This job drives accounting activities. In this position, you will be responsible for the day-to-day corporate accounting operations and financial reporting activities. This role requires an understanding of US GAAP, accounting operations, external and management reporting, and internal controls. This role collaborates with cross-functional teams including sales, product and finance analytics to drive product implementation and projects, establish processes and drive financial excellence.

Essential Responsibilities:

• Lead several process workstreams through explorations, gap analysis, integration planning, execution, and problem solving
• Identify finance-related risks and partner with cross-functional teams to mitigate the identified risks
• Discuss finance/accounting concepts with others across the organization
• Lead and drive execution of plans and influence where you do not have direct authority through strong interpersonal skills
• Proactively engage, evaluate, and drive resolution of potential conflicts between various Finance and non-Finance functions
• Manage multiple workstreams simultaneously
• Work collaboratively with workstream leads and subject matter experts to arrive at risk-based approaches related to tactical execution steps
• Comfort with problem solving and creative solutioning

Expected Qualifications:

• 5+ years relevant experience and a Bachelor’s degree OR Any equivalent combination of education and experience.

Additional Responsibilities:

• Manage and oversee daily accounting operations, ensuring compliance with GAAP and PayPal's accounting policies
• Review and reconcile accounts, and partner with FP&A and data teams to analyze trends and variances
• Review contracts and collaborate with Accounting Policy Group to ensure appropriate accounting treatment of contractual arrangements.
• Prepare and present reporting packages and/or presentation to members of senior management
• Maintain and update comprehensive documentation, including accounting policies, processes and procedures.
• Partner with Internal Controls team to continuously assess and strengthen internal controls
• Assist in special projects

Additional Qualifications:

• Strong understanding of US GAAP, particularly revenue recognition, advertising, and rewards or incentive programs
• Experience with revenue recognition and/or loyalty programs, preferred
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving and organizational skills, with keen attention to detail

The US national annual pay range for this role is $100,500 to $173,250
