What You Will Do
- Develop and implement data-driven pricing strategies for Uber's delivery services, taking into account various factors such as market conditions, competitor prices, and customer demand.
- Conduct thorough analyses of pricing data and trends to identify opportunities for optimizing delivery pricing and increasing profitability.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product managers, engineers, and data scientists, to understand business needs and provide data-driven solutions.
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices in delivery pricing and make recommendations for continuous improvement.
- Lead research projects to explore new pricing models and techniques that can enhance the delivery experience for both customers and partners.
- Use statistical and machine learning techniques to build predictive models and algorithms to inform pricing decisions.
- Monitor and evaluate the performance of pricing strategies and make adjustments as needed to ensure optimal outcomes.
- Work closely with the operations team to understand the impact of pricing strategies on driver-partners and manage any potential challenges.
- Train and mentor junior team members on data analysis techniques and best practices for pricing optimization.
- Communicate findings and recommendations to stakeholders through clear and concise presentations, reports, and dashboards.
- - - - Basic Qualifications ----
- Ph.D. or M.S. degree in Statistics, Economics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Machine Learning, or other quantitative fields.
- 1+ years of industry experience as a scientist or equivalent.
- Ability to use Python, SQL, R or similar technologies to work efficiently with large data sets
- Design experiments and interpret the results to draw detailed and actionable conclusions across a variety of key performance indicators.
- - - - Preferred Qualifications ----
- Excellent communication skills: able to lead initiatives across multiple product areas and communicate findings with leadership and product teams.
- Experience leading key technical projects and substantially influencing the scope and output of others.
- Solid Programming skills to prototype models in at least one of Python (preferably), R, Java
- Expert in one of the following areas: A/B experimentation design, causal inference, machine learning, economics, or optimization
- Experience of working with large dataset using Spark, Hive, HDFS is desired
For New York, NY-based roles: The base salary range for this role is USD$183,000 per year - USD$203,000 per year.
For San Francisco, CA-based roles: The base salary range for this role is USD$183,000 per year - USD$203,000 per year.
