Water issues are becoming increasingly prominent as we struggle with disparity between water availability and demands, water pollution, and competition for limited water resources. At Jacobs, we recognize these challenges and our engineers, scientists, and planners are working together with clients to find the right solutions to their water challenges.

Jacobs would like to welcome a Senior Instrumentation and Controls Engineer to join our Water business based at the Singapore Office. This role provides design and technical support, particularly in instrumentation, control, and automation (ICA) engineering, for the Singapore Office and generally to the Asia Region; manages project inputs and ensures the project budget and controls are in place; and supports the Lead ICA in the proposal preparation and submission.

Duties include:

  • Design and review ICA scope, BIM, specifications, drawings, and Bill of Quantities for all ICA works.
  • Present, communicate, and coordinate ICA design, technical input and scope with clients, contractors, and vendors.
  • Prepare and design instrumentation and control content of P&IDs.
  • Design and Develop control system architecture, wiring, loop, network, layout, and other drawings as required.
  • Liaise and coordinate relevant technical matters with other disciplines.
  • Ensure that consistent quality standards and conformance with design plans/ specifications are maintained across the project and coordination with Lead ICA engineer to ensure consistency across projects.
  • Write technical reports and specifications including control narratives and functional descriptions for control systems.
  • Support site supervision and plant commissioning activities when required.
Here's what you'll need
  • Degree in Electrical and/or Electronics Engineering, with a minimum of 10 years relevant experience in instrumentation and controlsengineering design.
  • Experience working on large infrastructure projects in Singapore specifically water/wastewater treatment plants would be an added advantage.
  • Experience in ethernet and fieldbus network design and network architecture and implementation on digitalisation.
  • Exposure and basic understanding of cyber security implementation on Operation Technology (OT) network design.
  • Experience with PUB projects would be an added advantage.
  • Experience working with BIM and 3D models would be an added advantage.
