What to Expect As the Commissioning Field Engineer – Mechanical in Sparks, NV, you will play a key role in executing site commissioning and quality keep quality standards. You will support Facilities Mechanical commissioning, oversee QA/QC processes, and ensure safe, quality installations through collaboration across functional groups. This role requires strong technical judgment and creative problem-solving skills to support field operations effectively. Once commissioning for this project is complete, this position will have heavy travel requirements (75-80%).
What You’ll Do - Strong Mechanical Commissioning background
- Strong Mechanical QA/QC background
- Lead Mechanical system commissioning & start up, adhering to QA/QC processes, procedures, testing, and inspections
- Manage site RFI/FCN/NCR processes
- Establish/manage site turnover documentation
- Schedule resources for inspection/testing of construction efforts
- Verify construction quality control
What You’ll Bring - Degree in Engineering or equivalent experience
- Must be willing to travel (75-80%)
- 10+ years in a multi-disciplinary Commissioning & QC/QA role (heavy industrial, oil & gas)
- Experience on $500M+ projects, both “owner” and “contractor” sides
- Knowledge of QA/QC of mechanical systems industry codes
- Experience performing quality audits
- Knowledge of quality principles and application to various functions
- Understand corrective actions for nonconforming conditions and regulatory impacts
