As a Strategic Business Manager, you will drive and apply consistent standards in managing operating routines. You will also have a clear understanding of the business objectives (OKRs) and oversee tracking and reporting in collaboration with key business partners across data & analytics and finance to ensure we execute on OKRs. You will partner closely with the CMO to clearly articulate the strategy and progress as needed for senior leadership meetings, business routines and communications related.

Strategic and Operational Planning

  • Assist CMO in defining and communicating strategic goals and objectives for the organization.
  • Build cadence and supporting routines for ensuring an integrated Auto Marketing strategy and supporting plans aligned to business priorities.
  • Lead the preparation of executive reporting, including but not limited to monthly business reviews, regulator updates, all hands meetings.
  • Manage scorecards, tracking and reporting of OKR in collaboration with D&A, Finance, and other partners within the Center of Excellence.
  • Facilitate management routines to help instill operational excellence in go-to-market readiness and return on investments.

Management presentations and communications

  • Support preparation of materials for key senior management meetings when Marketing is on the agenda. Work with Marketing senior leadership to determine presentation agenda and timeline, coordinate across contributors and create final materials.
  • Coordinate across team to develop presentations for internal events/meetings (e.g., Senior Leadership Conferences, Town Halls, LOB discussions, etc.)
  • Craft talking points for external speaking engagements for Chief Marketing Officer. Review with Communications.
  • Share updates and successes coordinate across team to regularly report on progress against team’s priorities and KPIs. Create compelling storytelling to share team’s accomplishments with multiple audiences.

Budget, Planning & Analysis

  • Manage business planning cycle headcount, financials, and overall budget for the department.
  • Coordinate annual budget planning across team, working with Finance. Work with colleagues to establish monthly tracking and forecasting throughout year. Advise senior leadership on opportunities and risks. Meet regularly with Finance to review actuals and forecast.
  • Project manage and execute key initiatives, including projects to increase productivity, improve resource allocation or address other business challenges.

management

  • Set the agenda for the All-Hands and staff meetings.
  • Communicate follow-up items and track closure.

Other responsibilities

  • Represent Marketing on Business Management related requests.
  • Act as primary contact for functional partners and represent the team in respective internal working groups and forums.

Required qualifications, skills and capabilities

  • 8+ years of experience in business disciplines such as marketing strategy, financial planning, consulting, corporate strategy, or similar role.
  • Strong business acumen and analytical skills and dealing with ambiguity.
  • Proven ability to build strong, cohesive partnerships and work effectively in a matrix organization.
  • Strong sense of prioritization, urgency, execution and delivery with extensive experience of driving process change and efficiencies in a growing business.
  • Highly self-motivated and ability to remain calm under intense pressure.
  • Expert written and verbal communications skills and delivery.
  • Strong interpersonal, influencing, and listening skills – ability to interact with colleagues at all levels and achieve goals without direct control over resources.
  • Effectively manage a high performing team that works as a utility across functions.
  • Ability to deliver executive level presentations and articulate complex business objectives to senior leadership.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint skills
