Qualifications

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field AND10+ years technical experience in service engineering, or systems engineeringor System Administrator.
  • 7+ years technical experience working with large-scale cloud or distributed systems.
  • Deep knowledge of system design & architecture, and running of complex, large scale onlineservices.
  • 5+ years of scripting and programming experience, including any of the following: NET, PowerShell, Python, C#.
  • years’ experiencefor DevOps and SREservices lifecycle.
  • 5+ years of experience in data management, including Kusto or similar stack, with data pipelines and messaging bus management.
  • Ability to work as part an On-Call rotation isa must.


Good To have

  • Experience with Kafka message bus management.
  • in C# and Java, especially with event-driven architecture and message bus management.
  • Deep understanding and working knowledge of CI/CD pipelines is a big plus.
Responsibilities
  • Perform deep technical investigations,leveragingrich telemetry streams to isolate and solve complex performance issues for MSRC services.
  • Take ownership to resolve service issuesin accordance withservice level agreements (SLAs), balancing speed and quality.
  • Responsible for platform services built on Azure and similar services to enable MSRC to collect data at scale, ensuring the uninterrupted flow of data with data pipelines.
  • Drive the identification of dependencies and the development of design documents for products, applications, services, or platforms for upgrades and enhancements.
  • Act as a Designated Responsible Individual (DRI) and guide other engineers by developing and following playbooks, working on-call tomonitorsystems/products/services for degradation, downtime, or interruptions, alerting stakeholders about status, andinitiatingactions to restore systems/products/services for simple and complex problems whenappropriate.
  • Proactively seek new knowledge and adapt tonew trends, technical solutions, and patterns that will improve the availability, reliability, efficiency, observability, and performance of products, while also driving consistency in monitoring and operations at scale.
  • maintaininga quality checklist. Create andmonitortelemetry data and influence analytics to betteridentifypatterns that reveal errors and unexpected problems.
  • Respond to incidents and complex issues byidentifyingand troubleshooting the issue, deployingappropriate fixes, and implementing automations to prevent recurring issues. Follow prescriptive guidance for security, privacy, and compliance standards.
