This will be a Hybrid role - ( San Jose, Austin, Chicago, Scottsdale).The Employee must commute to office based on the RTO requirements.

Job Description:

In your day-to-day role, you will:

  • Own definition and implementation of the data governance strategy and control framework across PayPal organization (includes data quality, data lifecycle, master data, reference data, metadata data, accountability and stewardship, and external data acquisition)
  • Define framework for governing data and data management activities for both “Cloud” and “on-premise” data ecosystems
  • Operate as a change agent across PayPal, guiding and directing various data governance & management activities, focusing on advancing the maturity of data management within the company
  • Ideate and devise governance processes that currently do not exist and enhance existing once to bring into alignment with industry trends and bestpractices.
  • Drive infusion of Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning in creating delightful and intelligent data governance capabilities that enable data quality, metadata search and discovery, data destruction and data lifecycle management
  • Incorporate advance technology to measure and report performance against data governance KPIs and KRIs
  • Create impactful and substantive relationships across the company and ensure business and technology partners are aligned to the data strategy
  • Educate and train business and technical data stakeholders across all business areas to understand PayPal’s Data Governance strategy, framework, policy, procedures and practices
  • Coordinate data related activities of business and technical stewards across the company
  • Work with stewards and data practitioners across the company to ensure all data governance processes, including quality, data destruction, critical data management and data privacy are integrated into product development, engineering, analytics, reporting, etc.
  • Lead cross-functional Data Governance forums and working groups, including Data Stewardship Council, Data Quality Working Group, Enterprise Data Council, Change Communication Board
  • Constantly review existing governance processes and practices to identity and implement opportunities for automation, adoption, and business value achievement

What you need to bring

  • 10- 15 years of experience in Data management.
  • Experience with data management and data governance tools such as Collibra & Datahub is a plus
  • BS degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Statistics, Business or related field Or MS
  • Industry certifications (CDMP) in data management or related fields are a plus.

  • Analyzing of complex, voluminous data
  • AI/ML experience that may include:
    • AI/ML Governance Strategy & Controls Framework
    • Machine Learning for Governance processes
    • Cloud Governance Framework & Process Definition
  • 5-8 years of program management and project managementexperience
  • Experience with industry data quality platforms and tools
  • Strong communication skills with a proven ability to work across multiple organizations to accomplish diverse goals
  • Must have a high degree of expertise in datamanagement-understandingof how all facets of data management are integrated to provide best value
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and collaboration skills to effectively communicate with both business and technical development teams
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, results-orientedenvironment
  • Familiarity with the trends and opportunities in the data quality-data management industry
  • Able to see the “big picture”-the end-to-end connection points associated with data and systems.
