Job Description

The Leaves Case Specialist provides primary case management and analytics in the areas of leave of absence services. In-depth knowledge of processing leaves of absence including short-term disability, worker’s compensation, long-term disability, military leave, adoption, parental, unpaid leaves, and accommodations. This role plays a key role in supporting and enhancing the day-to-day operations of the leave of absence team in both administration of pay and benefits for employees on leave. Responsibilities include the following:

  • Provide subject matter expertise and service continuity for U.S. Bank’s leave of absence program including case management, issue resolution, terminations, digital mail, and payroll support.
  • Act as an escalation point on inquiries and escalations from employees, managers, partners, and vendors.
  • Investigate and troubleshoot leave of absence pay issues and complex leave situations, partnering with internal stakeholders and vendor contacts as needed.
  • Audit leave of absence pay, reports, and Workday coding.
  • Oversee process to recuperate overpayments occurred during an employee’s leave of absence.
  • Maintain a useful working knowledge of current company policies, procedures, government regulations affecting leaves for payroll and benefits administration and commonly accepted business ethics.
  • Manage projects as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in HR or related field
  • Minimum of 2-5 years of experience in administration of HR, Leave of Absence or Payroll
  • Knowledge of STD, LTD, and leave policies, plans, and procedures as well as federal and state leave laws such as FMLA, PFML, and ADA
  • Proficient computer skills, especially Microsoft Office applications, Teams, Workday, and ServiceNow; Proven Excel skills
  • Effective math, verbal and written communication skills
  • High degree of adaptability and flexibility for change
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with a strong customer service and telephone skills to problem solve, de-escalate, and communicate policies
  • Ability to identify key metrics, interpret data, audit data, and resolve exceptions
  • Technical skills to identify and test leave and disability scenarios in systems and to assist in process development
  • Commitment to maintaining the highest level of confidentiality when dealing with personal information, leave details, compensation and benefit information.
  • Ability to handle multiple projects and multiple deadlines simultaneously

Preferred Skills/Experience:

  • Disability and leave certification CLMS or related certification

Familiarity with absence management leave and claim systems, specifically the RelianceMatrix portal

The salary range reflects figures based on the primary location, which is listed first. The actual range for the role may differ based on the location of the role. In addition to salary, U.S. Bank offers a comprehensive benefits package, including incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase 401(k) contribution and pension (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). Pay Range: $64,855.00 - $76,300.00 - $83,930.00
