We’re seeking a Senior Levelect Manager in Northern California to lead and participate in projects to help support our clients to adapt and thrive in the face of current and future global sustainability challenges. You’ll apply your technical experience in biology and permitting to review project scope, create a plan, and execute biological surveys and permitting strategies. Your leadership will be key to realizing safer infrastructure operations, healthier communities, and protection of our world’s natural resources.Aligned to our Oakland office, you’ll have the opportunity to contribute to and manage projects related to linear infrastructure, renewables developments, transportation, and energy infrastructure, focusing on biological reviews, surveys, and permitting. Project & Technical Management
- Serve as a lead biologist and/or project manager in the successful development and execution of utility, transportation, and renewable energy projects.
- Develop permitting strategies, provide regulatory guidance, and direct surveys for biological resources to document existing conditions and to identify sensitive habitats or habitats for rare, threatened, or endangered species on a project site.
- Support staff in preparation of biological resources sections for CEQA documents, evaluate potential environmental impacts and develop mitigation measures.
- Provide quality assurance reviews of technical documents.
- Lead coordination with regulatory agency staff to discuss and negotiate project impacts, permitting requirements, and mitigation strategies.
- Support or lead environmental compliance efforts.
- Support other permitting project managers as a senior technical lead, providing regulatory permitting strategy support and managing biological resources surveys and associated permitting elements for West Coast projects.
- Provide mentorship, growth, and direction to junior and mid-level staff to aid in their career growth.
- Manage multi-disciplinary teams to complete projects on time and on budget
Strategy And Business Development
- Work with client account managers and operations on strategic pursuits, including proposal and business development.
- Conduct business development activities through direct client contact.
- Lead proposal and cost development activities for biological tasks.
