Your day to day
- Analyze large volumes of transaction, dispute, and chargeback data to identify trends, root causes, and fraud patterns.
- Develop and optimize dispute strategies for PayPal, leveraging knowledge of U.S. or international financial markets, card networks and customer spending behavior.
- Develop business cases in support of new risk policies, vendor integrations, and PayPal dispute infrastructure enhancements.
- Come up with post transaction risk requirements for product initiatives and prioritize said requirements with partner teams
- Consult/partner with other PayPal business and technology groups to assure the optimal deployment of payment solutions to satisfy customer needs and corporate objectives.
- Monitor regulatory trends and card network requirements related to disputes and chargebacks and ensure compliance through ongoing analysis and reporting.
- Work with International team members to exchange and implement best practices across PayPal’s existing footprint.
What do you need to bring-
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience and a Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
- Bachelor’s or higher in Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Business Analytics, or a related quantitative discipline.
- Proven proficiency with data analysis tools (e.g., SQL, Python) and data visualization platforms (e.g., Tableau, Power BI).
- Experience working with large, complex datasets, preferably in payments, fintech, banking, or e-commerce settings.
- Knowledge of dispute/chargeback workflows and relevant regulations (Visa/Mastercard framework, friendly fraud, regulatory compliance) strongly preferred.
- Strong analytical and critical thinking abilities; able to diagnose complex issues and propose actionable solutions.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; confident in presenting to and influencing senior stakeholders.
- Detail-oriented, able to manage multiple projects, and comfortable balancing day-to-day analytics with ad hoc investigations.
- Familiarity with fraud detection systems, customer relationship management, and/or dispute management platforms is a plus

The US national annual pay range for this role is $123,500 to $212,850
