About the Role

The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker with a keen understanding of the local market, exceptional negotiation skills, and the ability to identify and onboard small-to-medium-sized merchants (not limited to restaurants) that align with our business objectives. This role requires a proactive approach in prospecting, outreach, and contract negotiations to establish and maintain successful long-term partnerships.

Key Responsibilities
  • Identify and establish new partnerships with merchants in the SA region through strategic prospecting efforts.
  • Lead contract negotiations to build mutually beneficial and sustainable partnerships.
  • Clearly articulate the value proposition of Uber Eats and its newest product offerings to potential partners.
  • Consistently achieve and exceed monthly sales targets.
  • Collaborate closely with Operations and Account Management teams to ensure a seamless onboarding process for new merchants.
  • Contribute to the development of best practices and strategies for merchant acquisition.
  • Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with key regional partners.
  • Represent Uber Eats’ mission, brand, and products in a professional and engaging manner.
  • Maintain proactive communication with potential partners via email, phone, and in-person meetings.
  • Drive the entire sales cycle, from initial contact to deal closure, ensuring business growth and long-term success.
Basic Qualifications
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in sales, operations, account management, or a related field.
  • Proficiency in Salesforce or similar CRM tools.
  • Strong attention to detail and a high level of work ethic.
  • A proactive mindset with the ability to work independently and take ownership of responsibilities.
Preferred Qualifications
  • A diploma or degree (tertiary qualification preferred).
  • Excellent communication and sales skills to build and maintain strong partnerships.
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking abilities to drive strategic decision-making.
  • Proven negotiation and deal-making skills.
