How you’ll spend your day

All areas of responsibility listed below are essential to the satisfactory performance of this position by any incumbents with reasonable accommodation if necessary. Any non-essential functions are assumed to be included in other related duties or assignments.

  • Work directly with legal to draft and establish standard language for direct customer contracts, GPO, Specialty Pharmacies, IDN contracts and LOCs to ensure proper compliance
  • Partner with Account Managers and Hospital GPOs, Clinics, IDNs to develop optimal contractual pricing & terms for Innovative and Biosimilar products; as necessary support Account Managers in contract language negotiations with customers
  • Collaborate with internal key stakeholders including Account Management, Brand, Payer Marketing, Pricing, Finance and Revenue Optimization and Contract Compliance (ROCC) to model the financial impacts of contracting strategies and to ensure successful implementation
  • Review all Account proposals for key impacts (e.g Best Price, ASP, Floor Price, Most Favored Nation, Failure to Supply) and coordinate all related contracting for purchase discount contracts including any GPO, Specialty Pharmacy, and retail/mail discount contracts
  • For assigned customers lead contract approval process to ensure organizational alignment and proper governance
  • Represent Strategic Contracting on cross-functional teams relating to product and channel strategy formulation, access initiatives, and pipeline product launch planning

The person hired will need to be able to work onsite out of our Parsippany, NJ site 3 days a week

Your experience and qualifications

Any equivalent combination of education, training and/or experience that fulfills the requirements of the position will be considered.

Education/Certification/Experience:

  • Minimum of 5 years of Pharmaceutical Contracting or equivalent combination of related education, training and/or direct working experience
  • BS/BA required

Skills/Knowledge/Abilities:

  • Demonstrated ability to draft, edit and interpret contract legal language and terms
  • Proven track record of success working effectively in a team-based environment, balancing diverse cross-functional perspectives, complex problem solving, team leadership, and collaboration skills
  • Ability to effectively communicate and influence cross-functional stakeholders on complex business proposals and to accurately interpret business considerations and impacts
  • Strong understanding of U.S. regulations and policies relating to manufacturer contracting and compliance
  • Highly organized and self-motivated, with a strong customer service focus that’s well-suited for a fast-paced environment
  • Paralegal or similar legal experience preferred
  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel and Word

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Occasional:

  • Sitting for extended periods of time at work station or mobile equipment.

Visual Acuity:

  • Perform activities such as computer work, preparing and analyzing data, and extensive reading.

WORKING ENVIRONMENT

  • May be required to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) as needed on site visits (i.e. safety glasses, hearing protection, gloves, etc.).
