As the Executive Director for the Instruments & Pricing Data Domain, you will lead a team of data stewards responsible for the governance and management of securities reference data, a critical component in JPMorganChase’s AWM CDO. You will focus on ensuring the accuracy, consistency, and availability of data related to financial instruments and pricing, supporting trading, risk management, compliance, and reporting functions. You will engage with stakeholders to enhance data-driven decision-making and present the data governance environment to senior management and external stakeholders.
As Domain Owner, you will report to the Product Director of the Securities and Core Reference Group and drive data strategy for data management and usage to support business objectives and marketplace competitiveness.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead a team of data stewards to ensure effective oversight of data management processes and controls, executing the CDO’s data governance agenda.
- Cultivate a proactive data governance culture with proven evaluation strategies and change management protocols.
- Partner with colleagues across the firm, including legal, compliance, risk, audit, and technology, to achieve consistent data governance practices.
- Act as a subject matter expert on data policies, compliance requirements, and industry best practices.
- Implement robust data analysis and management strategies to monitor data health and identify risks.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams for accurate process execution and risk mitigation.
- Prepare and present reports and recommendations to senior management and stakeholders.
- Foster continuous improvement initiatives and stay current with industry changes.
- Lead interactions with audit, compliance, and regulators, and manage key metrics to inform on the data governance environment.
- Foster an inclusive culture to attract, develop, and retain diverse talent, enhancing employee engagement.
- Promote continuous learning and development within the team.
Required Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills:
- 10+ years of experience in Enterprise Data Management and Asset or Wealth Management.
- 8+ years of experience as a Data Owner driving data quality, integrity, and ensuring compliance with financial regulations and privacy laws.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Data Science, Finance, or a related field.
- 8+ years of experience in Data Governance, including establishing and running data governance across organizations.
- 8+ years of experience in issuer, party, security reference data, pricing, indices and benchmarks, ratings, and classifications domains.
- 8+ years of hands-on experience in database modeling and design.
- Extensive knowledge of data vendors and aggregators like Bloomberg, Refinitiv, and MSCI, along with deep expertise in financial instruments such as equities, fixed income, and derivatives.
- Proven experience in leading and delivering Enterprise Data Management Solutions, including Security, Party, Issue, and Pricing Masters.
- Strong leadership and team management skills, with a track record of developing high-performing teams and effectively partnering with back, middle, and front office users.
- Ability to interpret complex data and provide actionable insights through strong analytical skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, capable of conveying complex information clearly and concisely.
