Maintains, troubleshoots, repairs, and installs electrical equipment and systems within the Tesla data center utilizing technical, interpersonal, and critical thinking skills
Works as a team with the entire Data Center Operations/Maintenance department, performing general maintenance duties, preventive maintenance, trouble calls, and emergency maintenance as needed and assigned
Works with electronic control systems, including microprocessors, sensors, and final control elements used in automated processes, ensuring uptime and reliability
Supports controls group in troubleshooting, upgrading, and installing new systems in the data center
Measures levels, pressures, temperatures, flow, and performs analytical testing on instrumentation and control systems, maintaining test equipment to support data center operations
Install, repair, and adjust system components, replace defective parts in critical systems, control and measurement instruments on new or existing data center equipment
Uses complex electrical schematics and blueprints to troubleshoot and correct problems in the data center's infrastructure
What You’ll Bring
Preferred experience in Data Center
Knowledge in using hand tools, electrical meters, and testing equipment specific to data center environments.
Ability to read and comprehend wiring diagrams, loop drawings, and P&ID drawings relevant to data center systems
Strong knowledge in troubleshooting motor controls, drives, and electronic components, with a good understanding of VFDs and PLCs
Ability to interpret electrical prints and schematics for complex systems in a data center
Must have strong interpersonal skills, along with the ability to interact with all levels of management; must demonstrate a high degree of initiative, and the ability to work independently and effectively within a team
Essential Physical Demands
Ability to perform physically demanding work for extended periods of time, up to 12 hours a day
Ability to stand and walk for up to 12 hours a day, including over varied and uneven terrain
Frequently and repetitively, lift, push and carry up to 35 lbs., including the ability to carry 20 lbs. up and down stairs
Frequently and repetitively, bend, lift and reach to install parts
Stoop, lay, bend, reach, squat, kneel, crouch, twist and crawl for extended periods of time, including up to 12 hours a day
Climb and maintain balance on ladders, scaffolding or other high structures
Ability to find issues in a work process and receive safety signals using sight, touch, and hearing
Wearing Personal Protective Equipment, including but not limited to: hard hat, safety glasses, safety shoes, reflective vest, and adhering to prescribed safety rules and guidelines
