We are currently seeking an EHS Specialist position to support the Country in fulfilling their responsibility in the area of occupational safety and environmental protection.
Areas of Responsibility:
- Ensures that all applicable legal and Siemens internal requirements (Corporate, Business Unit) in the area of EHS are implemented and that a certifiable EHS Management System is maintained and effective. Contributes to / supports / leads projects of Global EHS DI SW Roadmap. Adapts, promotes, and implements local and global EHS programs and initiatives and monitors their effectiveness.
- Maintains and fosters close interaction with respective Countries' CEOs, Business Units EHS officer, RC BR and Global Health Management Manager and facilities operations teams and other counterparts as required. Frequent interactions with the RC Brazil team for applicable EHS Collaboration engagement opportunities.
- Sets and implements Country EHS roadmap based on business strategy and Corporate / Business EHS roadmap.
- Plans, implements, and follows up on the audit / assessment / inspections program (including certification audits where applicable).
- Management of CIPA: Coordinate the entire electoral process of the CIPA (Internal Commission for Accident and Harassment Prevention) according to the regulations. Coordinate the functioning of the CIPA (Internal Commission for Accident and Harassment Prevention) – meetings, action calendar, improvement proposals, campaigns and SIPAT (Internal Week of Occupational Accident Prevention). Provide CIPA training for new members according to the regulations.
- Keep NR4 documents annually archived and available for inspection.
- Monitor and coordinate the preparation of PGR / PCMSO / AET (those are mandatory programs – Safety, Health and Ergonomic) with the service provider.
- Coordinate all Environmental reporting figures consumption data in collaboration with SRE stakeholders.
- Conducts analyses of accidents and health hazards to be used to target specific prevention strategies. Prepares and maintains required documentation of incident reports, statistical analysis to drive continuous improvement process through Behavior Based Safety.
- Conducts worksite risk assessments to identify and evaluate safety and health risk and compliance exposures. Develops and implements strategies to reduce or eliminate these risks and exposures.
- Coordinate all EHS onboarding and offboarding activities for employees, manage all medical exams, including PPP before 2023 for all terminated employees. Create positions and hierarchies for the admission process within SOC (health system), including updates when necessary.
- Drives administrative and engineering controls to eliminate hazards in the facility to create a zero-incident workplace.
- Ensures adequate EHS-related communication with internal and external stakeholders and authorities.
- Ensures an adequate competence management and training system for EHS-related competencies within the country organization.
- Ensures and controls EHS-related reporting as to local and Siemens requirements.
- Ensures EHS Management System implementation and drives continuous improvement for the Country organization.
- Ensures implementation of EHS-related risk management in processes, projects, and products.
- Ensures that applicable statutory requirements are identified and accorded to.
- Request exam scheduling with the NEXUS provider, guiding the employee through the process. Coordinate with the NEXUS provider the annual campaign for periodic exams (it refers to about 120 exams per year).
- Serves as primary key contact for all EHS matters assigned within the area of the EHS responsibilities according to EHS Principles
- Interact with the Health Plan for disease mapping and prevention. Act proactively in health campaigns such as the prevention of seasonal diseases, COVID, etc. and coordinate the annual flu vaccination campaign Manage all customer EHS supplier requests and provide statistical information when requested.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Process for providing PPEs according to need (external or internal supplier, PO, dispatch, system registration, signatures).
- Participates in the Siemens Country Crisis Management Team. Serve as the focal point in crisis situations, ensuring the safety and health of employees. This includes collaboration and support to the physical security team to ensure that all control measures are in place to ensure timely identification of corrective actions that need to be implemented.
Experience:
- Mid-professional work experience in Environmental Protection, Health Management and Safety (EHS)
- Typically, 5+ years of relevant Occupational Safety and Health Administration experience ideally within data center or large-scale engineering environments
- Advanced knowledge of in country legislation and compliance is mandatory
- Knowledge safety and health management.
Education & Trainings:
- At least a Bachelor’s Degree, in a related Occupational Safety, Health Administration and/or Environmental Protection field. Degree in technical education and/or EHS related / relevant fields and/or recognized certificates.
- Member of one or more of the Professional Organizations in Occupational Safety Health and Environment undertaking a scheme of Continuous Professional Development
- Evidenced training / expertise in the broader spectrum of Brazil EHS regulatory topics.
