  • Working knowledge of major system components and their interactions.
  • Possesses generalist knowledge of technical areas covered by the department.
  • Good working knowledge of testing techniques such as spectroscopy, titration, and HPLC.
  • Good working knowledge of various applications such as wet etch, damascene, and packaging.
  • Ability to diagnose and resolve basic customer issues.
  • Strong communication skills especially technical writing skills.
  • Excellent analytical and problem solving skills
  • Self-motivated with ability to multi-task and learn quickly.
  • Proficiency with personal computers and industry-standard software applications (Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project etc.).

Core Responsibilities:

  • Perform installations, preventative maintenance, and remedial repair maintenance on complex electro-mechanical semiconductor capital equipment at global customer locations.
  • Create and maintain a high level of customer satisfaction through customer service skills, implementing fast quality responses to both internal and external customers while maintaining a safety-first mentality.
  • Develop action plans for problem resolution and present to internal and external customers.
  • Develop improvements for processes, hardware, and software for continuous improvement of company’s equipment / business operation.
  • Work closely with sales team and complete a facility detail form for new systems to ensure KLA equipment complies with assigned location/space requirements at FAB.
  • Complete detailed Field Service Reports and submit to management in a timely manner.
  • Document issues that cannot immediately be resolved at customer site by using appropriate format.
  • Additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in chemical,electrical/electronicor mechanical engineering desired.
  • Must possess basic troubleshooting techniques in repairing complex microprocessor controlled electro-mechanical systems.
  • Well-able to read and interpretelectronic/electro-mechanicalschematics and drawings.
  • Outstanding and extremely professional customer service skills.
  • Ability to work with hand tools.
  • Knowledge in any of the following areas is a PLUS: Experience working in a FAB facility, closed loop communications control, electro-mechanical controls or microprocessor-based controllers, chemical handling including acids, FAB safely requirements or practices.
  • Military experience is also a plus.
  • International and domestic travel required.

Recommended Qualifications / Experience

In this exciting role, you will:

  • valuate, analyze, diagnose and solve technical equipment problems via telephone or at customer site.
  • Ensure equipment improves customer production. Repair of system level problems (which have multiple causes and for which no standard procedures exist) at customer sites. Represent the company to the customer and assume accountability for customer happiness with service. Assure operational quality of system equipment. Coordinates actions with customers to minimize down time.
  • Provide assistance to Installation Engineer in resolving problems. Prepare fields service reports on customer support activity and provide documentation to other supporting functions on re-occurring problems.
  • Build positive relationships with customers and increase customer satisfaction by resolving sophisticated requests and issues. Develop and handle return materials authorization (RMA) processes for ensuring customer returns, exchanges, service and repairs are done with speed and accuracy and all client/customer service delivery issues are resolved.
  • Execute technical critical issues with detailed problem statement and pass-down to work with system engineering technical team in customer site.
