3M PSD Fall Protection Quality Manager*


As a PSD Fall Protection Quality Manager you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative and diverse people around the world. Here, you will make an impact by:

  • Partner with / provide oversight to global manufacturing sites to drive Operational Quality excellence, working to identify and address sources of risk and variability (e.g. via process audits / reviews).
  • Lead and provide coaching to global teams on the resolution of quality issues including product recalls and complaints, while monitoring and addressing root cause issues.
  • Act as New Product Introduction and Change Management Quality Gatekeeper and approver to ensure robustness in Quality Function Deployment, test methoddevelopment/implementation,and risk mitigation.
  • Drive Supplier Quality improvement through the execution of governance plans based on risk.
  • Champion a culture of continuous improvement to drive customer satisfaction, safety, quality and achieve business and plant objectives.
  • Develop and execute Health of the Organization plans.
  • Actively participate on the Fall Protection and Head, Eye, Face Business Unit Leadership team to create cross-functional collaboration.

Your Skills and Expertise

To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or other comparable technical degree (completed and verified prior to start) from an accredited institution
  • Five (5) years of experience in Quality, Product Engineering, Six Sigma, Continuous Improvement experience in a private, public, government or military environment

Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:

  • Master’s degree in mechanical engineering, Chemical Engineering, or other comparable technical degree from an accredited institution
  • Five (5) years of experience within an assembly operation
  • Three (3) years of experience with mechanical operations
  • Three (3) years of experience building a Quality culture
  • Statistical experience in DOEs, capability analyses, validations, measurement systems analysis, etc.
  • Ten (10) years of experience in Quality, Product Engineering, Six Sigma, Continuous Improvement or comparable experience in a private, public, government or military environment
  • Ability to take on complex situations and execute to resolution

Work location:

  • Hybrid Eligible (Job Duties allow for some remote work but require travel to Red Wing at least 2-3 days per week)
