APPLE INC has the following available in Cupertino, California and various unanticipated locations throughout the USA. Collaborate closely on multi-disciplinary, cross-functional teams with people from speech, natural language, human interface, server and client engineering, localization, editorial, marketing, project management, data science and other specialties to ensure alignment and integration with other graphic and design system behaviors. Analyze production usage data and user research across devices and content domains to identify and prioritize user design experience opportunities. Review product requirements and synthesize into design vision that highlights key user goals, hero use cases, and experience requirements for new system functionality. Apply natural language understanding and speech recognition best practices to define verbal query patterns, including key ontology changes required for new system functionality. Mock up proposed visuals and create demo graphic and design prototypes to illustrate proposed system interactions. Create and deliver compelling presentations to share design thinking and direction with leadership and cross-functional teams. Deliver detailed design specifications with interaction flows and use cases, including Siri dialog and visual responses across all devices and modalities. Review designs to ensure consistency with established dialog and visual patterns across all Siri experiences. 40 hours/week. At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $175,800 - $264,200/yr and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
  • Master’s degree or foreign equivalent in Linguistics, Human-Computer Interaction, Interaction Design, or related field.
  • Experience and/or education must include:
  • Defining the design vision for voice user experiences, including high-level hero use cases, sample interactions, and design requirements.
  • Using Keynote or similar tools to create compelling presentations that clearly illustrate design concepts.
  • Identifying key natural language phrases, intents, and entities that users may reference during a given interaction.
  • Using Sketch or similar tools to create visual mockups that illustrate how information will be visually presented with dialog.
  • Executing or partnering with User Research teams on user studies to gather feedback and iterate on designs.
  • Using OmniGraffle or similar tools to create flow diagrams illustrating possible paths through a conversational interaction.
  • Writing and iterating on spoken dialog that is used to guide users through a conversational interaction.
