Description
In this role, you’ll work in a groundbreaking production facility, supporting a wide range of productions. You’ll lead the setup, configuration, and operation of multi-camera systems, including cinema cameras, switchers, routers, intercoms, and video monitors. The ideal candidate will have excellent networking skills, including building and troubleshooting 2110 systems, along with extensive expertise in video production. This role also demands strong teamwork and collaboration skills. Every single day, you’ll collaborate with other engineers, as well as producers, directors, DPs, and artists, to help bring their creative visions to life. Additionally, you will be responsible for maintaining equipment and performing timely upgrades, ensuring all systems remain functional and up-to-date. This role also involves participating in pre-production meetings, coordinating with external crews for load-ins and load-outs, and working closely with production teams to align on the run-of-show, ensuring all technical requirements are understood and met. This role will report into the technical studio manager.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in broadcast or production engineering, with at least 5 years as an EIC or equivalent role.
  • Expertise in setting up and operating advanced broadcast and production systems, including digital cinema cameras, large format production switchers, audio consoles, 2110 video routers and intercom systems.
  • Proven understanding of IP-based systems (e.g., Dante, SMPTE 2110, NDI) and hybrid production models.
  • Expertise with video standards (SDR, HDR, HD, and UHD workflows)
  • The candidate must be able to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, and adapt to rapidly changing production and artist schedules.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Ability to collaborate with external producers and directors to achieve the desired production goals.
  • Ability to work and lead external production crews with the setup and tear down of production related equipment.
  • Track and maintain broadcast related equipment to make sure facility is functioning at a high level of performance.
  • Knowledge of Arista and Cisco network equipment.
  • Ability to troubleshoot PTP V2 and V1 standards across 2110 networks.
  • Practical knowledge of configuring and operating intercom systems, such as Riedel, RTS, and Clear-Com.
  • Experience with digital replay systems and file based media.
  • Experience working high-profile live events and musical performances.
  • Experience with streaming protocols and codecs such as SRT, HLS, H.264, HEVC.
  • Ability to properly lead, archive, and deliver audio and video assets that meet project specifications
Pay & Benefits
  • At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $129,600 and $236,300, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.Note: Apple benefit, compensation and employee stock programs are subject to eligibility requirements and other terms of the applicable plan or program.
