As an Estimating Professional and part of our Advanced Manufacturing team, you’ll serve as a leader and technical expert. You’ll be a key member of our team for various types of clients including industrial, chemical, pulp & paper, general manufacturing, Data Centers, Electric Vehicles and pharmaceutical facilities. You’ll assist the estimating department manager to develop and execute the strategy and plan for estimating activities that support the overall proposal strategy for project requirements. You’ll also foster working relationships with project team members to coordinate deliverables to estimating and provide guidance on project deliverables as well as feedback on estimates completed by others. We’ll tap into your expertise to review and contribute to the interpretation of the request for proposal or project contract and help identify risk areas and participate in mitigation planning. We’ll lean on you to provide technical guidance and mentorship to less experienced design and estimating personnel. As part of this role you will be assigned specific strategic initiatives to help shape Advanced Manufacturing and also other Jacobs organizations. Your leadership will be leveraged into our growing Advanced Facilities construction sector where our clients need cost certainty and risk identification.
In this role, your primary contributions will include:
• Establishing Estimating Strategy and Tools
• Risk and Pricing simulations
• Performing estimates as needed to balance workload
• Create and maintain a library of Estimating benchmarks and metrics
• Leverage lessons learned from software rollout to other sectors of our business
• Participate in communities of practice
• Prepare studies for clients as they evaluate their stage gates
• Assist the construction organization on winning work and strategic direction
• Mentorship and teaching
• Minimum of fifteen years progressive experience with increasing responsibility in an estimating role for industrial project execution or a project management role executing industrial projects in the field.
• Estimating and Construction experience in an Industrial environment.
• Ability to thrive in a remote environment
Ideally, You’ll Also Have:
• Bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, project management or related technical field.
• Professional experience within the markets of either EV/Batteries, Data Centers and/or Pulp & Paper.
• Experience with Cost-OS, Sage Estimating (Timberline) or similar estimating software platforms.
• Experience with Aspen CCE or other parametric tools.
• Active membership in AACE, PMI, or similar association.
