The Deputy Director for Support Services is responsible for managing and overseeing project controls for engineering, construction, and all related cost projects within a major capital improvement program. This role requires specific experience in cost engineering functions, including cost estimating, cost control, change management, and cost analysis. In addition, the candidate should have experience in project controls and commercial operations, with a strong emphasis on project controls and financial issues. Strong communication skills, both written and oral, are essential, as is a strong working knowledge of multiple project delivery methods, such as construction management at risk, design-build, indefinite delivery-indefinite quantity, and traditional design-bid-build. The ideal candidate should be self-motivated and an initiator, as demonstrated through professional society involvements or related activities. Furthermore, they should be capable of managing a team to resolve project issues arising from operations and requiring coordination with other departments.

Responsibilities:

  • Establishes controls and operating polices that identify, monitor, and mitigate risk factors that could impact the success of a project
  • Ensures project control reporting documents are produced clearly and reflect the schedule and time status, cost or budget considerations, changes, supplier performance, and other risk levels
  • Assist with the development, review, and analysis of program and project schedules
  • Assist with program and project data analysis to gage process and assess gaps for senior management engagement
  • Provide oversight, management, and quality assurance of deliverables from the project controls system? Assist, analyze, Earned Value for project
  • Provide oversight of the development, coordination, and execution of risk registers as part of the risk management program
  • Assists in the management of Jacobs’ contract with the client as well as oversight of company requirements for project management
  • Should be knowledgeable of Oracle Primavera 6, Microsoft Office Suite of Software, a major data management system (eBuilder, PMWeb, Unifier
  • Must have the ability to operate a vehicle for the purpose of visiting project sites to assess project conditions, engagement client and vendors, etc.
  • Must work from a client office on a regular basis
  • Must be capable and confident to present data in spreadsheet or PowerPoint form to the client’s senior management staff
Here's what you'll need

Here's what you'll need:

- A Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Science degree in Project Management, Construction Management, or Engineering

- Certified Project Director (CPD)

- ORACLE certification

- Certified Construction Manager (CCM) and/or Project Management Professional (PMP) certification

- A minimum of 12 years of experience in project delivery, with a focus on cost engineering functions, cost estimating, cost control, change management, and cost analysis.
