Job Description

U.S. Bank is seeking the position of Senior Software Engineer for Mobile Development (multiple openings) in Chicago, IL.

Essential Responsibilities:

The Senior Software Engineer for Mobile Development (multiple openings) is responsible for designing scalable, resilient, and fast mobile and web applications. This role builds hybrid/native mobile apps and responsive web app and itl reviews code and ensures the coding standards are met along with compliance to industry best practices.

Specific duties include: (1) align the vision and technology roadmap for mobile solutions; (2) oversee and coordinate supporting technical work required with other IT teams, including infrastructure ( e.g. for servers and network) and upstream/downstream system and application owners ( e.g. dashboard, insights, wealth, etc.); (3) work with program managers to prioritize on business stories and to ensure technical execution risks and issues are captured and mitigated; (4) collaborate and work with Senior Engineers, Technical Managers, and Application Engineering teams to ensure mobile applications meet the business requirements; (5) monitor operating efficiency and organizational needs of existing application systems and identify opportunities to fine-tune and optimize applications of developed projects and recommend technical solutions; (6) work with distributed software design and development working with Mobile Solution Technologies; (7) participate in the requirements, design and construction phases and ensure the successful delivery of the project from a technical perspective; (8) design and build iOS, Android mobile applications using Objective-C, Swift, SwiftUI and React Native programming languages; (9) ensure that systems are built for change, scalability, and reusability; delivering and implementing project as per the schedule, ensuring compliance to quality standards; coordinate unit testing with the development team, automation testing with automation team and bug fixing with the testing team with input from product management; (10) monitor key result areas, performance, code quality and metrics on the projects, engineering test cases design or strategies for design verification and product validation; and (11) perform detail design work flows, mobile solution frameworks, user interfaces and designs.

Basic Qualifications:

This position requires a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Applied Computer Science, Computer Science, or Computer Engineering and 5 years related (progressive, post-baccalaureate) experience working with distributed software design and development working with Mobile Solution Technologies

Required Skills/Experience:

Must also have 24 months of experience with each of the following: (1) participating in the requirements, design and construction phases and ensure the successful delivery of the project from a technical perspective; (2) designing and building iOS, Android mobile applications using Objective-C, Swift, SwiftUI and React Native programming languages; (3) ensuring that systems are built for change, scalability, and reusability; delivering and implementing project as per the schedule, ensuring compliance to quality standards; coordinate unit testing with the development team, automation testing with automation team and bug fixing with the testing team with input from product management; (4) monitoring key result areas, performance, code quality and metrics on the projects, engineering test cases design or strategies for design verification and product validation; and (5) performing detail design work flows, mobile solution frameworks, user interfaces and designs.
