About the role:

Join our Peripheral Interventions Team, where we create innovative technologies to diagnose and treat peripheral vascular disease. As an R&D Engineering Intern, your role is focused on driving the design, development, and integration of groundbreaking technologies. You will be part of a cross-functional team, providing opportunities to build relationships with professionals in a diverse range of fields. This role offers a unique chance to work on innovative technologies, gain end-to-end exposure to the product development cycle, and excel in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Design and Testing: Assist in the design and development of medical devices, conducting feasibility studies, developing prototypes, and performing testing and validation.
  • Problem-Solving and Compliance: Support investigations into failure modes, perform root cause analyses, and develop solutions to address technical challenges. Ensure compliance with relevant regulatory requirements and standards.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including project management,process development,quality, marketing, manufacturing, and regulatory affairs, to ensure successful project execution.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Prepare and review engineering documentation, including technical reports, design history files, and regulatory submissions. Present project updates and technical insights to engineers and managers.

Required Qualifications

  • Must graduate between Fall 2026 and Spring 2027
  • Must have at least one semester of school left post-internship
  • Currently pursuing a degree in Biomedical or Mechanical Engineering
  • Must be able to commit to one of the following full internship program periods: May 18th – August 7th OR May 26th – August 14th
  • Must be eligible to work in the U.S. without company sponsorship, now or in the future, for employment-based work authorization
  • Must have reliable transportation to and from the Maple Grove, MN Boston Scientific Corporate location
  • Experience collaborating on an engineering project in school or in a professional environment

Preferred Qualifications

  • Excellent problem solving, communication, and time management skills
  • Biomedical or anatomy experience and/or aptitude
  • Basic understanding of design controls and risk management within the medical device industry

Compensation fornon-exempt (hourly), non-sales rolesmay also include variable compensation from time to time (e.g., any overtime and shift differential) and annual bonus target (subject to plan eligibility and other requirements).
