As an Engineering Manager, your primary focus will be driving innovation and technical excellence for AWS Lambda - the pioneering serverless computing platform:• Mentor a team of software engineers, fostering continuous learning and knowledge sharing through stand-ups, code reviews, and one-on-ones. Inspire them to push boundaries and embrace failure as a learning opportunity.• Architect and develop core systems powering Lambda's Data Plane, ensuring scalability, fault-tolerance, and high performance to handle massive traffic spikes seamlessly. Optimize service utilization and economics, improving resource efficiency while maintaining high availability and low latency.• Collaborate cross-functionally with product managers, architects, and engineering teams to align on technical roadmaps and deliver customer-centric solutions. Stay ahead of emerging technologies and drive the adoption of new practices to enhance Lambda.

- 3+ years of engineering team management experience
- 7+ years of working directly within engineering teams experience
- 3+ years of designing or architecting (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
- 4+ years of leading the definition and development of multi tier web services experience
- Experience partnering with product or program management teams
- Knowledge of engineering practices and patterns for the full software/hardware/networks development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, certification, and livesite operations

- Experience in communicating with users, other technical teams, and senior leadership to collect requirements, describe software product features, technical designs, and product strategy
- Bachelor’s degree, Master's, PhD, or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field
