We are looking for exceptional talent to fill our Azure Digital & Application Innovation Sales Manager position. You will be responsible for people management, sales execution, scaling collaboration, technical expertise, and sales excellence.

Sales Manager Digital & Application Innovation:

As a Specialist Manger for Application Innovation you will be a senior solution sales leader, with strong technical and busines acumen and substantial technology-related sales or consulting background selling the Microsoft Application innovation portfolio to our largest Enterprise customers.

Minimum Requirements/Qualifications:
  • Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Business Administration or related field AND several years of technology-related sales or account management experience OR
  • Numerous years of experience in solution sales for Azure solutions or similar business public cloud services selling software-as-a-service or cloud-based business applications to enterprise customers successfully displacing competitors
  • People management skill, including skill to manage high performance sales and technical-specialist teams, experience in leadership roles in multi-tiered large organizations

Additional or Preferred Qualifications (PQs):

  • Sales Account Planning and Management: some years of experience in leading and negotiating high impact cloud deals requiring orchestration of large, dispersed, virtual teams composed of industry, solution, technical, licensing & legal team members.
  • People Management: several demonstrated Sales Team Management experience in Enterprise sales with demonstrated people leader experience able to coach and inspire a diverse team of Sales and Pre- Sales Professionals.
    • Executive Presence: Excels at developing strong relationships and leadership connections to understand customer needs.
    • Partners: Understanding of partner ecosystems and the ability to leverage partner solutions to solve customer needs
  • Cloud Platform: Understanding of Microsoft Azure Cloud platform, or other public cloud platforms (AWS, GCP), including IaaS and PaaS technologies and how they translate into business impact. Versed in cloud migration and modernization, cloud native app development as well as platform engineering and development processes
  • Competitive Landscape: Knowledge of enterprise software solutions and cloud and datacenter infrastructure competitor landscape including AWS and GCP
Responsibilities

The Specialist Manager is responsible for:

People Management:

  • You will develop a high-performance team by hiring diverse talent, prioritizing development, leading by example and a model, coach, care approach.

  • You will coach field sellers with a “challenger mentality”/consulting sales methodology by prompting sellers to engage early and lead with new insights and acting with a customer focused mindset on how to grow the customers’ business.

  • You drive strong cross-team collaboration with internal peers (i.e. Azure Infrastructure, Azure Data and AI, Business Application) to grow the overall business.

Customer Centricity:

  • You will lead from the front, personally engaging at CxO level to support and coach teams on opportunity discovery and acceleration.
  • You will lead solution and technical sellers to drive end-to-end business solutions, increasing customer and partner satisfaction and average deal sizes YoY.
  • You will lead cross-team to ensure customer commitment for Microsoft's application innovation portfolio.

Sales and Sales Excellence:

  • Grow business, revenue & consumption and meet sales and consumption targets across your team's customer portfolio, drive sales across the Microsoft application and developer platform.
  • You will lead sellers to drive the digital and application innovation business to exceed revenue, consumption, and scorecard targets.
  • Lead the team to explore business and emerging opportunities to optimize the portfolio and facilitate customer innovation to drive growth by leveraging technology, industry and partner expertise. Builds new market by leveraging deep technology expertise and resources.
  • You will develop your sellers' solution sales and technical skills to successfully land our digital and application innovation portfolio with their customers.
  • Guide the team on ensuring customer/partner satisfaction and facilitate the resolution of technical issues for strategic accounts.
  • Establish standards for customer/partner experiences. Ensure customers are made aware of new technology innovations.
  • Drive and oversees integrated strategic and quota retirement planning to exceed cloud growth, drive consumption, and support revenue and gain market share for the solution area. Drives the integration of all local, regional and corporate resources into the strategic plan.
  • Act as a thought leader and deduce clear insights and perspectives from business analysis.
  • Mentor/coach the team on growing knowledge on sales or products and ensure the team completes training and obtains certifications as required. Seek additional learning opportunities and prioritize to enhance effectiveness.
  • You will drive a strong partnership with relevant internal teams engaging in the customer (e.g. account teams, other solution sales teams, partners, services, customer success, engineering, support, etc.).
  • You will be responsible for maintaining the pipeline and the forecast with the highest level of operational and sales excellence. Ensure the appropriate pipeline to be in place at all times for the application innovation portfolio.
  • You will drive new business opportunities to achieve targets contributing positively to relevant subsidiary scorecard metrics.
  • You will set up sales programs, approaches and scaling motions to ensure the success of the application innovation business.
  • You coach your team on strong usage of programs and offerings to successfully land the application innovation portfolio with customers.

Tech Leader Expertise:

  • Demonstrate technical know-how in cloud native app development and modernisation projects as well as platform engineering and developer experience incl. the challenges that can occur for customers in such projects.
  • Provide expertise to customers/partners and share knowledge on social media relevant for their market (e.g. LinkedIn). Establishes a sounding board of customers and partners related to technology innovation.
  • Reviews wins/losses with the team to determine how to identify systematic and non-systematic patterns as well as issues to resolve.
  • Acts as a thought leader to help their team connect Microsoft solutions to customer business impact. Leverages deep technology knowledge and coaches team about Microsoft technology differentiators/competitive advantage.

Partner Engagement:

  • You bring together and land Microsoft solutions with Partner solutions, fully leverage the synergy effect with our partners, and co-sell with them to make deals bigger and faster.
  • You share practical knowledge with partners to drive the sale, deployment, and adoption of Microsoft solutions.
  • You guiden the team to build a network of partners to cross-sell, up-sell and drive new business opportunities.

You will stay sharp, share your knowledge, and learn practices from others. You will be recognized for sharing, learning, and driving individual work that all result in business impact for customers, partners and within Microsoft.
