Tool Crib Attendantlocated inColumbia, South Carolina.
Reporting to theTool Crib Attendantrole is responsible for issuing tools, dies and area equipment; maintains records of issued tools, and monitors the tool crib inventory when necessary; also receives new tools and schedules preventative maintenance of the equipment.
What a typical day looks like:
- Receives, stores and issues hand tools, machine tools, dies, materials, and equipment in industrial establishment.
- Maintains perpetual inventory of tools and equipment, manually or using computer.
- Receives incoming tools and equipment.
- Lubricates tools and equipment, using hand tools, spray gun, or pressurized spray.
- Determines method of tools shipment.
- Unpacks and examines incoming tools and materials, rejects damaged items, records shortages and corresponds with shipper to rectify damages and shortages.
- Liable to notify supervision of received items.
- Receives, unpacks, and stores incoming tools and equipment, and requisitions stock to replenish inventory.
- Inspects and measures tools and equipment for defects and wear and reports damage or wear to supervisors.
- Repairs, services, and lubricates tools and equipment.
- Delivers tools or equipment to workers. Marks and identifies tools and equipment.
- Maintain a cutting tool inventory.
- Orders, stores, issues, sharpens, and maintains all tools and holders.
- Responsible for the operations and management of the tool crib during lab hours.
The experience we’re looking to add to our team:
- Completion of a high school degree is preferred.
- Basic Office Skills: typing, telephones experience; excel experience preferred
- ERP knowledge preferred, but not required
- Warehouse Skills: forklift, electronic scales, pallet jack
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide all units of measure.
- Ability to compute rate, ratio and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form
