About the RoleIn this role, you will apply your expertise to a variety of critical tasks, including
- Developing models to address ambiguous challenges using statistical, machine learning, and optimization techniques.
- Collaborating closely with product development teams to prototype and productionize models, enhance data observability and metrics, and conduct experiments.
- Driving team roadmap and vision through identifying opportunities and building data-driven solutions.
- Delivering insightful presentations on models, solutions, and data analytics findings to stakeholders and leadership.
Basic Qualifications- M.S.'s degree in Statistics, Machine Learning, Operations Research, or other quantitative fields.
- 2+ years of industry experiences an Applied Scientist or equivalent (waived1+ if holding an Ph.D. degree in a related quantitative field)
- Experience with exploratory data analysis, statistical analysis and testing, causal analysis and ML model development.
- Experience in experimental design and analysis.
- Proficiency using Python, Spark at scale with large data sets.
- Experience with tools like SQL, Rk in a production environment
- Experience working in a marketplace environment within the technology industry
Preferred Qualifications- Ph.D. Degree in Statistics, Machine Learning, Operations Research, or other quantitative field
- Experience in tech or marketplace industries
- Proficiency in programming languages including Java and Go.
- Professional communication skills through documentation and presentations.
- Experienced in partnering with cross-functional stakeholders to execute decisions.
- Industry experience in algorithm development and prototyping.
For New York, NY-based roles: The base salary range for this role is USD$149,000 per year - USD$165,500 per year.
For San Francisco, CA-based roles: The base salary range for this role is USD$149,000 per year - USD$165,500 per year.
