You’ll be working to design and build high-performance solutions that operate at a global scale. Your responsibilities will include working with stakeholders to build systems and pipelines to help support automated and manual reporting that are essential to Kuiper. You’ll participate in the full development life cycle, end-to-end, from design, implementation and testing, to documentation, delivery, support, and maintenance. As a senior level position you’ll help to support mentorship of best practices and guiding principals as the team continues to grow and build infrastructure.* Design, implement and maintain data infrastructure including data modeling, ETL pipelines, and ongoing maintenance. Using AWS big data stack, Python, Redshift, Quicksight, Glue/lake formation, EMR/Spark/Scala, Athena etc.
* Partner with various teams to build data pipelines from a wide variety of sources using AWS big data technologies (Lake Formation, Glue, S3, Redshift, Lambda, etc.).
* Build a data dictionary, catalog and governance plan and manage and audit all of the registered data via mechanisms.
* Develop automated solutions to minimize manual processes with focus on efficiency and scalability.
* Clearly communicate deep technical topics to customers.This position may be based in Bellevue, WA, or Arlington, VA. Some travel, domestic and international, may be required.

- 5+ years of data engineering experience
- Experience with data modeling, warehousing and building ETL pipelines
- Experience in at least one modern scripting or programming language, such as Python, Java, Scala, or NodeJS
- 5+ years experience with AWS technologies like Redshift, S3, AWS Glue, EMR, Kinesis, FireHose, Lambda, and IAM roles and permissions

- Experience communicating with users, other technical teams, and management to collect requirements, describe data modeling decisions and data engineering strategy
- Knowledge of professional software engineering & best practices for full software development life cycle, including coding standards, software architectures, code reviews, source control management, continuous deployments, testing, and operational excellence
- Ideal candidate would have one or more of the following certifications:
- 1. AWS Certified SysOps Administrator Assoc.
- 2. AWS Certified Developer Assoc.
- 3. AWS Certified Solutions Architect Assoc.
- 4. AWS Certified Data Engineer Assoc.
- 5. AWS Certified Machine Learning Engineer Assoc.
