Simulation and Automation Architect – Fire Safety
Key Responsibilities:
- The Simulation and Automation Architect provides a key role in designing, implementing and maintaining the necessary infrastructure to simulate and automate testing for the product family of Siemens Fire Safety Systems.
- This role requires a proven track record of utilizing specialized knowledge gained from working directly with simulation/automation software and our fire safety modular systems within our India office to contribute significantly to the development and implementation of our U.S. operations.
- Provides Technical Leadership and Strategic Direction for the development of Simulation and Test Automation Software of Siemens Fire Systems, utilizing a comprehensive understanding of our proprietary systems and architecture.
- Lead the design and development of Simulation and Test Automation infrastructure for our Fire Systems product line, leveraging advanced knowledge of real-time embedded system simulation.
- Develop architecture solutions for simulation and test automation that seamlessly integrates with large scale systems composed of thousands of safety devices by collaborating with key system architects.
- Collaborate with overseas colleagues to ensure seamless integration of U.S. operations with existing global systems using our large-scale automation frameworks.
- Identify and implement improvements to automatic test frameworks, including Robot, based on deep understanding of their technical complexities and integration with cloud-based CI/CD pipelines.
- Define and execute 5-year roadmap for the growth of large-scale software simulation products and their applications. Roadmaps include the introduction of next generation technologies such as generative AI and machine learning into simulation systems.
You’ll win us over by having the following qualifications:
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering
- 10+ years of experience working directly with Siemens fire safety systems
- 3+ years in a leadership role
- Knowledge of fire safety system domain applications and their architecture and ability to model fire system behavior and interfaces to emulate actual field operation in a virtual environment.
- Knowledge of levels of product testing and how to apply them.
- Experience in C/C++ for embedded systems, network protocol implementations (Ethernet, IP, RS485, UART, I2C, SPI).
- Experience with applying advanced software testing techniques including the Robot framework and other test automation frameworks.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Proven ability to lead and contribute to complex technical projects related to fire systems development and testing.
- Strong understanding of software development lifecycle and testing methodologies.
- Knowledge of software performance testing and the metrics necessary to measure software performance.
- Knowledge of testing software systems at scale (large configurations).
- Knowledge of software security testing requirements. Understanding and application of secure product development standards (e.g. IEC 62443-4-1), secure coding.
- Familiarity with SAFe/Agile processes for software development, knowledge of CI/CD pipelines for continuous delivery of high-quality software.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with ability to present innovation vision to senior leadership.
- Ability to specify and set up test environments and bring innovations to testing processes and techniques.
- Knowledge of principles of generative AI and machine learning techniques.
- Must have wide-reaching scope, impact and influence extending beyond the confines of the test architect role and spans across the entire product organization.

- The pay range for this position is <$110,460 - $189,360>. The actual wage offered may be lower or higher depending on budget and candidate experience, knowledge, skills, qualifications and premium geographic location.
