With Financial Threat attacks becoming increasingly complex, being able to combine data from different sources, systems and lines of businesses to provide a comprehensive understanding is extremely critical. The Financial Threats Data Analyst position is an individual contributor role that will lead analysis and data gathering efforts to assist in financial threat prevention and detection opportunities for Citi’s North American Consumer Credit and Retail Banking products. Partnering closely with Financial Threat Policy teammates and leadership, the analyst will be tasked to assess risk signals gathered from various sources (defect reviews, intelligence, operations feedback, etc.) into actionable, data driven insight. This position will require a strong analytical orientation, technical expertise and an understanding of current financial threat risks (identity theft, first party fraud, credit abuse, mules, scams, etc.) to be successful.
Responsibilities:
- Provides actionable, data driven insights that demonstrate visibility into financial threat activities, trends, patterns and root causes
- Access data from multiple systems, products and across different lines of businesses
- Be the primary source of analytical and data support for the leadership and policy team which would be comprised of both adhoc and longer-term analytical projects
- Introduce and enable efficiencies within existing processes and fraud prevention strategies
- Using analytical data to create a storyboard that senior leadership will use to approve new strategies, process changes or vendor solutions to minimize fraud exposure
- Track, present and report emerging trends and opportunities to senior leadership
- The position requires substantial cross functional interaction with Policy, Operations, and other business partners and stakeholders to optimize business strategies
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of financial threat (credit or fraud) risk analytics experience in the financial industry
- 5+ years of programming experience in SAS/SQL. Python experience is a plus
- Strong data analytical skills with proven track record of solving complex analysis tasks
- Ability to understand the story behind data and summarize results tailored to the audience
- Tableau and data visualization
- Ability to prioritize effectively and work efficiently under tight deadlines
- Excellent communication skills required for successful collaborations across different verticals and levels of management
- Ability to work effectively in a cross-functional organization
- Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) knowledge required
- Bachelor’s/Universitydegree in a quantitative or computer science discipline, Master’s degree preferred
