Reporting to the,Corporate Real Estate and Facilities North Americatheapplies engineering values to design, modify or develop facilities, testing, machines, equipment or processes used in processing or manufacturing products.

What a typical day looks like:

• Researches facility products or equipment specifications and performance requirements to define designs which can be produced by existing manufacturing or processing facilities and methods.
• Researches engineering proposals, process requirements and related technical data pertaining to industrial facilities machinery and equipment design.
• Defines feasibility of designing new plant facilities equipment or modifying existing facilities considering costs, available space, time limitations, company planning and other technical and economic factors.
• Provides technical facilities information concerning manufacturing or processing techniques, materials, properties and process advantages and limitations which affect long range plant and product engineering planning.
• Compiles and researches facilities research data to establish performance standards for newly designed or modified equipment.
• Studies engineering and technical publications to keep abreast of technical changes and developments in industry.
• Uses computer assisted engineering and design software and equipment to perform engineering tasks.
• Guides projects and project teams.

The experience we’re looking to add to our team:

• Requires a minimum of 2 - 4 years of related experience.
• Demonstrates working knowledge of functional concepts and a solid comprehension of Flex’s policies and procedures. Basic comprehension of AutoCAD preferred.
• Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry. Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
• A Certified Plant Engineer (CPE) certificate is preferred.
• Executes and may provide input to functional processes or technologies. Assists in achievingsection/sub-functionalobjectives. Impacts immediate operations of the team.
• Exercises independent judgment within generally defined procedures and policies for selecting methods, techniques and evaluation criteria for obtaining results. Facilitates team in making group decisions. Decisions affect team.
