Design and develop advanced manufacturing equipment and processes that integrate precision equipment, optimized process conditions, and advanced materials for scalable, high-quality production
Analyze and solve material characterization and mechanical testing challenges, with a focus on high-reliability thermal-mechanical joints
Ensure manufacturability by collaborating with design engineers to apply Design for Manufacturability (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA) principles to new product designs
Work with suppliers and integrators to design, manufacture, and install equipment for medium- to high-volume production
Implement manufacturing techniques, including joining methods such as fastening, welding, brazing, soldering, and adhesive bonding, along with quality assurance methods like vision inspection, leak testing, and electrical testing
Deploy and scale manufacturing processes and equipment for high-volume production, including tool qualification, process documentation, and operator training
Drive continuous improvement by ramping processes to meet high-volume production targets, ensuring efficiency in cycle time, availability, yield, quality, and reliability
What You’ll Bring
3+ years of experience as a Manufacturing Engineer, with a track record of developing and optimizing complex assembly processes in high-volume automated production environments
In-depth knowledge of joining techniques, including metal-ceramic joining, diffusion bonding, brazing, welding, and sintering, with understanding of material-process-equipment interactions
Experience creating technical specifications for automated manufacturing equipment and applying Design for Manufacturability (DFM) and Automation (DFA) principles
Proficiency in CAD tools, including AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or CATIA for designing mechanical equipment, fixturing, and tooling
Strong understanding of lean and six sigma principles, with experience using tools like DMAIC, RCA, DOE, FMEA, PCA, SPC, and Kaizen
Ability to collect, analyze, and interpret complex data using tools like MySQL, Python, R, JMP, or Tableau to inform decisions
