What to Expect

A Paint Manufacturing Equipment Engineer in the Production Engineering team will be a part of operating, sustaining, andimproving some of the most automated manufacturing equipment in the world. Thebest candidate for the position has a high aptitude to learn new skillsets inthe position. The expectation is that engineers will start with strengths inpaint or powder coat processes, or familiarity with sustaining ovens + in agiven field (AUTOCAD, robotics, PLC Programming, vision, Python, HMI scripting,etc) and then learn all other areas from those who work with them. This rolerequires capability across the board to sustain all parts of the automatedequipment.

What You’ll Do
  • Sustain24 by 7 production operations through responding to and resolving breakdownsquickly and efficiently to minimize downtime, specifically focusing on thepowder coat/paint systems
  • Programladder logic and structured text on multiple PLC controller platforms(Allen-Bradley, Siemens and Beckhoff). Program and teach industrial 6-axis robots (Fanuc) Sequence complex,multi-station machinery for material pick-and-place, dispense, fastening,welding and conveyance applications
  • Drive continuousimprovement of automated equipment to enhance safety, quality, productivity,and cost metrics
  • Conduct riskassessments and lead safety evaluations for equipment prior to launch
  • Preferred workingexperience in Paint Shops, or tools such as Atlas Copco Fastening tools
  • Working experienceon Powder Supply Systems, Powder Reclaim Systems, Dust Collector Systems,Humidifier Systems, IR Ovens, PreTreatment Systems, Conveyor Systems
  • Sealant Robotic Dispense Systems
  • Working experiencein SolidWorks AutoCAD
  • Support 24/7production operations as needed
What You’ll Bring
  • Bachelor'sDegree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or equivalent relevantexperience
  • Minimumof 3 years of hands-on experience working with automation and electromechanicalsystems
  • Experiencewith PLCs (Siemens, SICAR protocol) and Safety PLCs
  • Preferredexperience in programming robots (Cartesian, SCARA, and Articulated)
  • Proventroubleshooting skills, root cause analysis, and problem-solving under tighttiming constraints
  • Proficiencyin 3D CAD packages such as SolidWorks and CATIA is a plus
  • PaintShops experience in equipment technical data and preventative maintenance
