Job Description

As a Validation automation engineer your responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

  • You will work in a team responsible for running test content in an automation setting. Responsibilities include station bring up, power-on readiness, and ensuring the fleet of target machines are functioning well and executing test content efficiently.
  • Integrates, validates, and debugs software across the stack for a specific product, platform, feature, or technology.
  • Designs and develops a software validation environment, the integration, and the enabling of the software stack.
  • Responsible for the creation of validation plans, automation, associated methodologies, and triage and debugging of failures.
  • Writes validation standards and procedures, analyzes the results to ensure correct functionality, triages failures, and recommends or develops corrective action.
  • Assesses the state of the art and employs new methods to improve quality, automation, and product release efficiency.
  • Specifically, in this job you will be working within the Functional Validation (FV) team inside the DCAI group working on next generation Xeon products for server markets.

The ideal candidate will exhibit the following :

  • Ability to work across multiple teams to interface between Software and other validation teams.
  • Knowledge in OS and software skills to help with issue triage and debug.
  • Ability to work on improving the execution/automation environment by writing scripts that enhance content efficiency and machine utilization.
  • Team player with good organizational and/or planning skills and solid verbal and/or written communication skills
  • Basic understanding of devops
  • Ability to work within and outside the team.
  • Strong communication and leadership skills.
Qualifications

Qualifications

You must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates.

Minimum qualifications:

The candidate must possess one of the following:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering with 4+ years relevant experience
  • Your experience should be in following:
    • Knowledge in Linux-based Operating systems especially Debian-based
    • Experience with scripting languages (Python, shell, Perl, etc.)
    • Experience in automation systems A

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience to write and debug Linux device drivers
  • Solid knowledge of C/C++ including code triage and debugging skills
  • Broad knowledge of Intel Xeon Processors and server products and implement them
  • Previous experience in pre-silicon or post-silicon verification/validation
  • Experience working with various Operating Systems used in platform validation including Windows, RedHat, and Debian Linux Solid Linux kernel driver development and debug experience.
  • Basic working knowledge in databases
  • Basic understanding of server/Xeon X86 architecture
  • Functional validation of SOC and platforms
  • Basic understanding of JTAG based protocols and DFD debug tools
  • Basic knowledge of High speed IO (PCIE/CXL) and memory
