KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Architect end-to-end data solutions across multiple domains, ensuring they meet business, technical, and regulatory requirements.
- Design and maintain enterprise data models (conceptual, logical, and physical), data flows, and integration patterns across systems and platforms.
- Serve as a strategic advisor on data governance, collaborating with stakeholders to define data standards, stewardship models, quality rules, and metadata strategies.
- Evaluate and recommend data platforms, tools, and technologies (e.g., cloud data warehouses, MDM, data catalogs, analytics platforms) based on use case fit, scalability, and compliance.
- Partner with data engineering, analytics, and business teams to deliver modern data architectures (e.g., lakehouse, event-driven, real-time).
- Lead data assessments to identify gaps, risks, and improvement opportunities in existing data ecosystems.
- Ensure alignment with privacy, security, and compliance standards (e.g., PIPEDA, GDPR, CCPA).
- Contribute to data strategy and roadmap development, providing architectural input and governance frameworks.
- Promote best practices in data management, data lifecycle, access control, and lineage documentation.
- Work effectively with multiple teams across a broad spectrum of initiatives and functional domains, influencing and aligning others as needed.
- Adhere to enterprise frameworks and methodologies that relate to business management activities for own area.
- Actively manage relationships with corporate and/or control functions and ensure alignment with enterprise and/or regulatory requirements.
- Keep abreast of emerging issues, trends, and evolving regulatory requirements and assess potential impacts to the Bank.
- Assess / identify key issues and escalate to appropriate levels and relevant stakeholders where required.
- Provides thought leadership and/or industry knowledge for own area of expertise.
- Support a positive work environment that promotes service to the business, quality, innovation, and teamwork and ensure timely communication of issues/ points of interest.
- Identify and recommend opportunities to enhance productivity, effectiveness, and operational efficiency.
- Work effectively as a team, supporting other members of the team in achieving business objectives and providing client services.

- Work autonomously and accountable for acting as a lead.
- Provide seasoned specialized knowledge, advice and/or guidance to various stakeholders and team members.

- Undertake and complete a variety of projects and initiatives requiring knowledge and/or the integration of cross functional processes within own area of expertise.
- Oversee and/or independently perform tasks from end to end.
EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.
- 7+ years of experience in data architecture, data management, or enterprise data engineering.
- Strong knowledge of data governance frameworks (e.g., DAMA-DMBOK), policies, and regulatory requirements.
- Solid understanding of metadata management, data cataloging (e.g., Collibra, Alation, Informatica), and data lineage tools.
- Proven experience translating complex business requirements into scalable technical data solutions.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills across technical and non-technical audiences.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to proactively identify risks/issues and recommend solution(s).
- Shows initiative, creativity, and critical thinking in their work.
- Ability to challenge status quo and to influence change.
- High degree of organizational awareness and sensitivity - strong ability to manage productive relationships with business partners and stakeholders at various levels.
