Deliver monthly and quarterly tax compliance reporting and support tax data audits across various tax domains.
Drive automation and build data validations and controls to ensure the data delivered to hosts and compliance authorities meets high-quality standards.
Design and build data visualizations and dashboards to monitor key trends and drive business decisions.
Understand data needs by interfacing with partner tax stakeholders, data analysts, data engineers, and business partners.
Build and validate new data models and pipelines in partnership with Data Engineering.
Collaborate with finance stakeholders on data research to drive product and business decisions.
Become a data expert in the tax data domain and be held accountable for data quality within your business domain.
Your Expertise:
7+ years of overall experience in relevant fields.
Must have experience with taxes, particularly knowledge of payment-level taxes often characterized as SALT, indirect taxes, sales/hotel taxes, or platform taxes for large platform technology companies.
Passion for high data quality.
Experience with data visualization and business intelligence tools (e.g., Tableau).
Expertise in at least one programming language for data analysis (e.g., Python, R) and proficiency in using notebook applications for analysis and validations.
Strong skills in SQL or other data query languages
Knowledge of distributed system optimization (e.g., Spark, Presto, Hadoop, Hive).
Ability to perform data analysis to inform business decisions.
Proven ability to succeed in both collaborative and independent work environments.
Detail-oriented and excited to learn new skills and tools.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with an ETL framework like Airflow.
Knowledge of schema design and dimensional data modeling is a plus.
An eye for design when it comes to dashboards and visualization tools.
Experience with analytical storytelling, using data to support business and product decisions.
Experience working at a company with large-scale transaction-level and tax data.
