Operational Risk Management (ORM) as part of Citi’s Risk Management function is focused on establishing an embedded, industry-leading operational risk culture across the enterprise that results in exceptional execution and strengthens franchise value.
As a member of ORM’s Chief Administrative Office, the Governance Reporting & Analysis Lead Analyst will be responsible for coordination of a) enterprise level operational risk materials leveraged by Senior Management and Board level governance committees, in adherence to Citi’s Governance Policy, and b) required activities for Second Line of Defense as outlined in Citi’s escalation program.
This role will require interaction with and support of both First and Second Lines of Defense Senior Leadership, Central Escalation and Infrastructure teams. The position requires a solid conceptual/ practical grounding in both Operational and Compliance risk. The successful candidate must be able to identify risk while navigating a complex stakeholder community to ensure that appropriate actions are taken and narratives constructed, where required.

Responsibilities:
- Support development of standardized risk and controls reporting to ensure sound, reliable, and consistent information exists across the organization, enabling better management and decision-making in line with the expectations senior of management, Board, and Regulators.
- Provide data analysis, governance, end-to-end management, and oversight for Governance Committees in adherence to Citi’s Policies, Standards, and Procedures.
- Enable proactive management of the risk and control environment through comprehensive reporting and analysis.
- Develop and maintain tools and processes to enable effective stakeholder management.
- Support identification of potential areas of vulnerability to key stakeholders to help support implementing an appropriate measure to mitigate risk.
- Regularly review and update risk and controls reporting standards and procedures to ensure their effectiveness and compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Support regular updates to senior management and the Board, keeping them informed of risk and control status and to ensure their reporting expectations are met.
- Support the operations of Citi's governance committees, including coordinating meetings, managing agendas, and ensuring follow-up on action items.
- Provide updates for committee chairs decision-making process in alignment with organizational goals and governance standards.
- Support compliance with governance standards and regulatory requirements related to committee operations.
- Partner with stakeholders across the enterprise to ensure the enterprise escalation requirements are understood and implemented
- Proactively engage and build relationships with ORM Escalation Champions to ensure the enterprise escalation requirements are understood and implemented
- Coordinate daily execution of significant Operational Risk related events escalated in adherence to Citi’s Escalation Policy; including those requiring further escalation to senior management
- Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency, as well as effectively supervise the activity of teams and create accountability with those who fail to maintain these standards
Qualifications:
- 5 plus years of experience in financial services with significant experience in Operational Risk is a must. Other risk and control disciplines would be a plus – credit, and market; with ability to effectively delineate items of importance and communicating outputs of such to governance forums
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Capable of prioritizing and multi-tasking in a dynamic, fast paced environment
- Proven results working across teams and boundaries, regardless of titles and roles, to deliver value to internal and external clients.
- Good understanding of Business Analysis and Project Management best practices preferred.
- Demonstrated analytical skills including root cause and trend analysis, with follow-up and problem-solving capabilities
- Demonstrated ability to think strategically, analytically, and creatively problem solve
- Process re-engineering and improvement mindset with ability to identify and solve for root cause rather than symptoms; track record of problem-solving and approaching opportunities in a holistic way that breaks down organization silos
- Understanding of best-practice risk management techniques across the financial services industry
- Strong interpersonal skills, with evidence of working in collaboration across large organizations, including a proactive and 'no surprises' approach
- History of proactively seeking opportunities to enhance and strengthen controls in a way that enhances risk management and oversight
- Proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint & SharePoint. Good understanding of Data Concepts and experience using Business Process Management, Reporting & Analytical Tools.
