About the RoleWe seek a user-focused, curious, and data-driven individual. This highly visible role requires natural leadership, strong communication and presentation skills, and the self-confidence to collaborate across distributed teams to create a unifying design vision.
You must have a solid grasp of design thinking methodology, which encompasses defining problems, fostering shared understanding, and conducting research and testing to generate user insights and fuel the iterative design process.
This role can be based out of our New York City office or remotely in North America.
In particular, you will- Collaborate with cross-functional teams of web strategists, brand designers, developers, product marketers, and other stakeholders to translate requirements and user insights into actionable web designs for experimentation and implementation
- Conduct user interviews, surveys, and usability tests to build empathy and gather insights into user behaviors and preferences, and use those insights to inform design direction
- Create user flows and wireframes to demonstrate user interactions and site functionality
- Create visually appealing and consistent responsive web designs that align with brand guidelines
- Contribute to and maintain design systems and component libraries
- Promote and apply accessibility best practices to ensure an inclusive user experience
- Effectively communicate design decisions and rationale to cross-functional teams
- Stay up-to-date with the latest UI/UX trends and web technologies
Requirements- Motivated self-starter with an eye for details. Must be able to work independently on multiple projects in a deadline-driven environment
- 5+ years of proven experience as a web designer, with a firm grasp of the design thinking process, user/product discovery techniques, and UX research principles and best practices
- Strong portfolio demonstrating expertise in applying UX research, interaction design, and visual design
- Figma is required; Rive (web animation) is nice-to-have. We use usertesting.com as our main user research platform
- Familiarity with atomic design methodology and design systems
- A bachelor's degree in a relevant field, such as Interaction Design, Human-Computer Interaction, Graphic Design, or a related discipline, is preferred but not required
