As Sr Data Engineer within WW Installments, you will be responsible for providing technical leadership and building the roadmap of Data Engineering and ML Ops solutions across all WW Installments Pillars. You will lead the DE in each pillar to design and implement highly available, scalable, stable, secure and cost effective data pipelines to support machine learning and business teams. This core capability is fundamental to the success of the business. You will have high visibility across Amazon businesses and leadership.
Key job responsibilities
This role will be responsible for:
• Lead the WW Installments data engineering and ML Ops roadmap for the core capabilities used by teams worldwide to access reporting, deep dives, and installment related insights.
• Facilitate the cross-functional initiatives across all pillars within Worldwide Installment to meet critical timeline of deliverables with visibility of leadership group.
• Architecture scalable and cost effective data solutions to support customer facing machine learning algorithms and data science teams.
• Design, implement, and maintain production data pipelines including DQ, SLA, and data agreements across data, ML, and partner teams.
• Optimize data engineering systems for performance, cost reliability, recoverability and security.
• Engage business stakeholders in constructive dialogues to convert impactful business problems into systematical data solutions by identifying new opportunities to influence business strategy and product vision using data.
• Lead junior engineers and scientists to deliver analytical projects and build proof of concept applications. Partner with fellow Data/Applied Scientists to implement scalable, automated infrastructure for data extraction, processing, computation, and delivery.
• Learn new technology and techniques to support product and process innovation.

- 5+ years of data engineering experience
- Experience with data modeling, warehousing and building ETL pipelines
- Experience with SQL
- Experience in at least one modern scripting or programming language, such as Python, Java, Scala, or NodeJS
- Experience mentoring team members on best practices

- 7+ years of data engineering, database engineering, business intelligence or business analytics experience
- Master's degree in computer science, engineering, analytics, mathematics, statistics, IT or equivalent
- Experience with big data technologies such as: Hadoop, Hive, Spark, EMR
- Experience operating large data warehouses
