Responsibilities:
- Be part of the organization that shapes the automation future within the AWS Direct Connect organization.- Drive continual improvement in systems operations through tool building and iterative updates.- Define and drive projects that improve efficiency in day-to-day tasks (or automate them away completely), identifying key metrics that reflect the success of those projects, and reporting on their progress.- Meet with customers to develop relationships, clarify requirements, and collaboratively develop designs from ambiguous or nebulous problems at wide scale.- Work in an environment where security and operational excellence are truly the top priorities, and where the degree of automation is astounding.Sydney, NSW, AUS

- 3+ years of engineering team management experience
- 7+ years of engineering experience
- 8+ years of leading the definition and development of multi tier web services experience
- Knowledge of engineering practices and patterns for the full software/hardware/networks development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, certification, and livesite operations
- Experience partnering with product or program management teams

- Experience in communicating with users, other technical teams, and senior leadership to collect requirements, describe software product features, technical designs, and product strategy
- Experience in recruiting, hiring, mentoring/coaching and managing teams of Software Engineers to improve their skills, and make them more effective, product software engineers
