You will report directly to the Sr. Manager of Rotating Equipment, and will work out of our Rosemont, Illinois location on a hybrid work schedule.In this role, you will have a significant impact on the success of each project. Your strategic decision-making, leadership skills, and ability to drive results will be instrumental in shaping the future success of the organization.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Provide sales support to review customer specifications and provide cost estimates for rotating equipment
  • Provide hours estimates for numerous project engagements from sales support, proposals, FastFEEDs and full project executions from RFQ to delivery
  • Generate requisitions for various types of rotating equipment such as hot centrifugal fans and blowers, pumps, and compressors, incorporating customer requirements to produce a complete technical definition of the equipment
  • Perform technical bid evaluations and participate in the supplier selection process with procurement
  • Work closely with all members of the project team including quality assurance, piping, instrumentation, electrical, process, structural designers, procurement, and project managers to meet project requirements for rotating equipment.
  • Coordinate with suppliers throughout the fabrication phase of the project
  • Lead and maintain key relationships with vendors/suppliers
  • Visit shops for vendor qualification, kickoff meetings, critical inspections, and performance tests
  • Stay current with applicable API standards for pumps and compressors
  • Review supplier designs against licensor, API and customer requirements
  • Develop and maintain Honeywell UOP specifications and infrastructure (tools, manuals, etc)
  • Coordinate with UOP’s Schedule A (basic engineering package) arm to drive alignment in scope of supply and equipment standards.
  • Train and develop other engineers within the department.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve field issues
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

This position is incentive plan eligible.

YOU MUST HAVE
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in a technical discipline such as the sciences, technology, engineering or mathematics
  • 15+ years of Rotating Equipment experience (design, application, operations, or maintenance)
  • Experience and knowledge of API standards related to rotating equipment API: 610, 611, 612, 613, 614, 617, 618, 619, 670, 671, 672, 673, 674, 675, 676, 682, 685, 692, etc
  • Hands-on experience with pumps, compressors, lube oil systems, and seals
  • Experience in the specification and procurement of rotating equipment, including their auxiliary support systems
  • Ability to communicate well with suppliers in both written and verbal communication
  • Ability to work well in a team environment and provide proper updates to Project managers, Project Engineers, and Procurement on the status of requisitions and document reviews
  • Capable of multi-tasking to maintain contributions for several projects simultaneously and on schedule
  • Organizational skills must include a disciplined approach to maintaining project files for team use and good documentation of correspondence and issue resolution
  • Good working knowledge and use of the following software applications: Adobe Acrobat Standard, Bluebeam, and Microsoft Office (Word, EXCEL, PowerPoint)
WE VALUE
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering or Chemical Engineering from an accredited institution is required
  • Master's degree in Engineering or a related field
  • Demonstrated leadership skills and the ability to inspire and motivate a team
  • Ability to communicate effectively across language and cultural barriers
  • Experience in technical writing and preparation of proposals
  • Proven ability to drive results and achieve targets
  • Experience with High-Temperature Centrifugal Fans / Blowers is a plus
  • Experience in an equipment manufacturing environment or operating plant is a plus
