Responsible for the design and development activities associated with systems and equipment. Conducts feasibility studies and coordinates validation testing on new and modified designs. Develops and/or drives the innovative mechanical design solutions for server computer systems and peripherals. Responsible for all mechanical development activities. Uses or directs the use of state-of-the-art CAD and analysis tools to create mechanical designs for mass production. Ensures product features achieve cost, schedule, quality and budgetary goals. Directs support personnel in all mechanical development activities.
You will:
- Designs, analyzes, documents and functionally validates mechanical components and assemblies.
- Conducts and participates in engineering tests to validate the robustness and proper performance of new products.
- Interfaces w/suppliers, electrical engineering, manufacturing, quality, tooling engineering and other development groups to ensure the successful development and launch of new products. Responsible for the mechanical detail design on assigned components.
- Responsible for testing, analysis and debug on assigned mechanical prototypes.
- Contributes to the successful management and development of mechanical tooling and first samples delivery.Ensures deliverables are met per program schedules.

- Designs, documents and monitors the validation and qualification of components and assemblies while potentially leading the efforts of others in these areas

Essential Requirements
- Strong mechanical aptitude for interpretation of mechanical drawing specifications. Strong knowledge and understanding of manufacturing-driven design issues
- Strong ability to read and understand complex drawings as well as 3D databases
- Strong understanding of appropriate technologies, vendor products and competitor's offerings
- Strong ability to analyze options for critical design elements and features, and determines optimum selection
- Strong understanding of using CAD and FEA tools.Strong ability to read and understand technical data sheets.Server related experience is plus.
Desirable Requirements
- 8+ years of related experience in a professional role with a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (or similar function).
