About the role:

As a Packaging Acquisition Manager, you will lead efforts to ensure acquired product packaging complies with all relevant regulations, standards, and business requirements. This role involves managing packaging engineering activities for acquired companies, aligning with critical business timelines and objectives. You will also manage and develop a cross-functional team to drive packaging implementation throughout the integration process.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Guide, coach, direct, and develop the Acquisition Packaging team members, fostering a collaborative and high-performing team environment.
  • Perform mid-year and annual performance reviews, providing continuous feedback and support to direct reports to motivate and enhance their professional growth.
  • Engage with divisional leadership and project teams to develop and own packaging integration strategies, project plans, and execution to meet franchise development needs.
  • Take ownership of the packaging function, ensuring alignment with overall business objectives and driving strategic initiatives.
  • Ensure the safety, quality, and compliance of acquired product packaging and labeling by collaborating with associated functions, including Regulatory Affairs, Quality, Packaging, and Operations.
  • Identify and resolve all issues related to product packaging integration into Boston Scientific’s quality system, maintaining high standards of quality and compliance.
  • Provide expert guidance and approval on technical and integration strategies, approaches, and processes to ensure optimal packaging solutions.
  • Manage business partners involved in the packaging approach, review, and approval process, ensuring adherence to established procedures and standards.
  • Review, provide feedback, and approve packaging design documents, ensuring they meet all necessary requirements.
  • Communicate and escalate any issues appropriately to maintain compliance and quality standards.
  • Attend cross-functional business team meetings to discuss strategy, scope, and implementation, acting as the stakeholder for Packaging.
  • Escalate topics as needed to ensure that packaging considerations are adequately addressed in project plans.
  • Lead change management communication across the business, ensuring that all stakeholders are informed and aligned with changes in packaging processes and strategies.
  • Manage the development, monitoring, and publishing of departmental operational metrics to track performance and identify areas for improvement.
  • Drive the continuous improvement of department tools and methodologies to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Determine project staff assignments and schedule work to meet completion dates and project deliverables, ensuring that projects are completed on time and within budget.
  • Establish and maintain cross-functional team relationships to facilitate collaboration and successful project outcomes.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in any engineering discipline.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in packaging engineering.
  • At least 1 year of experience in people management and technical leadership.
  • Proven project management skills with the ability to influence and drive performance across functions.
  • Strong change management and conflict resolution skills, with experience managing ambiguous situations.
  • Willingness and ability to travel globally up to 20%.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in people management and technical leadership.
  • Experience in designing packaging for Class II or Class III medical devices.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to interact effectively at all levels.
  • Highly organized and results-oriented, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects efficiently.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to develop and maintain effective relationships

Maximum Salary: $ 188300

Compensation fornon-exempt (hourly), non-sales rolesmay also include variable compensation from time to time (e.g., any overtime and shift differential) and annual bonus target (subject to plan eligibility and other requirements).
