Participate in daily Material Review Board (MRB) meetings and investigate potential supplier quality issues within agreed timeframe, assign ownership of defects and support other teams and team members with complex or major issues which impact Tesla quality or productivity
Own the containment activities for all supplier related issues by fast response including sorting/reworking parts when needed, creating Work Instructions, support the QI Team members in training inspectors, conduct spot audits, and communicate daily the results of all sorts highlighting percentage of rejected parts
Review SCARs for accuracy and completeness of information (detailed description of issue), effectively communicate improvements or changes needed with the SCAR creator, or take the initiative and make the adjustments as needed; Drive the closure of sorts; SCAR sorts to be closed within 21 days, and TSorts to be closed within 30 days
Lead part measurement activities for high-risk parts, take the initiative to have parts measured, document and share the results
Coordinate return of samples to supplier for failure analysis, measurement at Tesla, or collection of additional information as required
Perform additional defect analysis utilizing basic metrology equipment, coordinate specialized testing, and communicate results with internal teams and supplier
Manage supplier liaisons/representatives at Tesla, coordinates their individual support activities, establish priorities based on build plan and business needs
What You’ll Bring
SQA Candidates will have a minimum of 3 years working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment as a member of either the quality, manufacturing, or process engineering team(s), or the candidate will have led multiple team members in the production processes
The SQA must have a basic understanding of GD&T, problem solving, and manufacturing
