Your impact

Reporting into the Construction Manager, you will be responsible for leading a team of utility project managers, engineers, and CAD technicians while managing subconsultants who provide aviation IT and telecommunications support. You will oversee master planning, design coordination, base mapping, construction sequencing, and commissioning of utilities, ensuring alignment with airport operations. Your role includes coordinating with the FAA, ComEd, Peoples Gas, AT&T, and other third-party utilities to address scoping, scheduling, budgeting, and compliance matters. You will work closely with project managers, designers, and CMARs to support utility-related design and construction efforts, while also assessing site utilities across all O’Hare projects. Additionally, you will provide strategic guidance to senior leadership on utility policies and major decisions, contribute to the development of an updated agreement with ComEd, and participate in planning for an IT strategy. As the FAA liaison for the Utility Master Plan, you will oversee utility coordination across TAP and CIP projects and ensure utility technical reviews are conducted. Your responsibilities will also include managing the ongoing updates to the O’Hare Airport composite utility and base files to maintain accurate as-built records for all projects at the airport.

Here's what you will need,

  • Bachelor’s degree in construction management, civil engineering, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, or a related field
  • 10+ years in utility planning, design, coordination, or construction management on large-scale infrastructure projects
  • Experience leading teams of engineers, project managers, and technical staff
  • Strong background in coordinating with public and private utility providers, government agencies, and regulatory bodies
  • Ability to work onsite full time at O’Hare International Airport with the program management team
