As a Technology Support Lead in Corporate Technology/Enterprise Technology within Tech Reference Data you will play a leadership role in ensuring the operational stability, availability, and performance of our production services. Critical thinking while overseeing day-to-day maintenance of the firm’s systems will be key and set you up for success as you navigate tasks related to identifying, troubleshooting, and resolving issues to ensure a seamless user experience.

As the Operations Lead - Technical Business Analyst & Support Specialist, your mission is to help enable our team build and lead Application Catalog operations. You will be required to interact with process owners, engineering partners and control owners to analyze, understand, document, and interpret complex processes and related production issue, write/update operational procedures.The Application Catalog product under the J.P. Morgan Chase Infrastructure Platforms enables robust Application Catalog management that is consistent, mature, repeatable, and well supported. The primary responsibility includes critical thinking, problem solving and responsiveness to end users and strong net promoter scores.

Job responsibilities

  • Build and lead a high performing Application Catalog operations team
  • Provide front line production support, proactive monitoring, capacity planning, performance tuning, security, maintenance, incident management for the product
  • Doing Release Management: Perform validation health checks, administrative and technical support to application development teams during production deployments.
  • Being Collaborative: Partner with application development teams to understand new projects, and set Production support team expectations as well as Partner with infrastructure teams
  • Gathering Production Metrics and identifying areas of improvement and efficiency gains - Telemetry
  • Lead office hours and other user enablement forums
  • Doing Incident management and Problem Resolution
  • Ensuring risk and controls compliance as defined.
  • Assist in UAT processing when required
  • Execute policies and procedures that ensure operational stability and availability

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • 5+ years of experience or equivalent expertise troubleshooting, resolving, and maintaining information technology services
  • Experience in analysis or dev-ops in the financial sector
  • Ability to query and analyze data and perform data profiling using SQL and reporting tools.
  • Working knowledge in application, data and infrastructure architecture disciplines
  • Superior analytical skills, to critically evaluate the information gathered from multiple sources, assess risk, reconcile conflicts, transform high-level information into details, prioritize user requests from the underlying true needs for the business, and understand the difference between solution ideas and business requirements and to distinguish clearly between them.
  • Organizational and Time Management skills, to work in a fast-paced dynamic environment, on multiple projects and tasks concurrently.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a meticulous attention to details and process skills.
  • Experience managing applications or infrastructure in a large-scale technology environment both on premises and public cloud
  • Proficient in observability and monitoring tools and techniques
  • Experience executing on processes in scope of the Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) framework

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Working knowledge in one or more general purpose programming languages and/or automation scripting
  • Practical experience with public cloud
