What the Candidate Will Do:
- Grow, build and lead a set of Machine Learning Engineers that build models to improve personalization and overall quality of the Feed.
- Work closely with cross-functional partners to understand product/business context and incorporate them into planning.
- Set the technical vision and roadmap for the team balancing execution against product goals, investing in foundations and innovating using latest tools & techniques.
- Setup the right processes to ensure the team follows best Engineering practices.
Basic Qualifications:
- Ph.D. or M.S. degree in Machine Learning, Statistics, Computer Science or other related technical discipline.
- 2+ years of experience directly managing high-performing Machine Learning Engineering teams.
- High degree of ownership and bias towards action, with a focus on impact and results.
Preferred Qualifications:
- 5+ years experience / track-record of building machine learning, ranking or personalization systems.
- Strong product sense and experience with end-to-end ownership of product development.
- Demonstrated ability to make data-driven decisions using strong analytical skills, with a track record of leveraging insights to drive Engineering investment direction.
- Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.
- Strong people leadership skills including growing and mentoring team members.
- Keeps up to date with industry trends, latest research in ML/DL/RecSys, and be able to proactively make pragmatic choices on what to adapt in our systems.
For San Francisco, CA-based roles: The base salary range for this role is USD$223,000 per year - USD$248,000 per year.
For Sunnyvale, CA-based roles: The base salary range for this role is USD$223,000 per year - USD$248,000 per year.
