This role is based in Tokyo and will report to the Senior Director of Marketing, Japan.
Responsibilities:
Lead a team of marketing professionals responsible for films, series, slate, and brand marketing.
Plan and manage the Japan marketing campaign calendar for series, film, slate, and brand marketing ensuring alignment with the global branding strategy and local marketing strategy, while incorporating cultural relevance and consumer insights in Japan.
Be responsible for the successful marketing of our titles in Japan and the creation of campaign strategies and assets that can extend beyond Japan.
Lead the prioritization and planning of content slates for domestic and global markets.
Provide direction and strategic guidance for campaign development, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
Contribute to the Japan marketing strategy as part of the Japan Marketing Leadership team and ensure effective execution.
Build strong relationships internally and externally with cross-functional partners, industry stakeholders, talent, showrunners, directors, and production houses to foster the effective execution of strategy.
Lead and manage marketing campaigns for films, series, slate, and brand marketing as a playing manager.
Partner with local creative, media agencies, and talent agencies to bring campaign strategies to life, acting as the main point of contact and ensuring cohesive communication across all parties.
Foster a positive culture and lead by example.
Requirements:
12+ years of strong marketing or branding experience and experience working at entertainment companies is a big plus.
Possess strong strategic thinking and business acumen with the ability to translate business strategies into marketing goals
Effective leadership abilities with experience in managing large, talented teams.
Deep understanding of marketing and the ability to strategize and execute functional strategies to lead business needs
Demonstrated track record of creating impactful 360-degree campaigns that resonate with audiences and generate cultural relevance.
Proven excellence in creative execution across multiple campaigns and brands.
Deep understanding of consumer insights and their application to campaign strategy and execution.
Comprehensive knowledge of the media, entertainment, and cultural landscape and its influence on brand and content marketing.
Strong organizational and management skills to navigate complex work environments, stakeholder dynamics, and campaign timelines.
Openness to feedback with high self-awareness, a learning mindset, and a commitment to continuous improvement.
An entrepreneurial mindset. This person should be a proactive self-starter who is not afraid to get their hands dirty and wear multiple hats.
Passionate and curious about all aspects of Netflix and the Netflix business at large.
Fluent English communication skills are essential.
