As an Associate within the Guideline Management Control team, you will provide coding support in setting up client and compliance regulations in systems to enable effective monitoring of guidelines. You will monitor and manage the alerts, breaches generated pre/ post trade as a result of trades/ non-trading actions and communicating effectively with various stakeholders. In this role, you need to liaise with Portfolio Managers and end-clients to ensure complete adherence to Investment Guidelines.
Job responsibilities:
- Support new account coding, reviews, and revisions including on-boarding activities and identify coding issues
- Leverage Machine learning tools for standard rule setups and set up strategy benchmark and client approved security list
- Maintain Legal and Compliance approved and restricted lists and set up trading brokers and counterparty Limits, exposure as per Institute of Management Accountants
- Perform analytical review of Investment Guidelines provided by investors and institutions and partner with various Operations team to improve data availability and overall quality of underlying data
- Partner with Monitoring team to reduces false breaches and manually monitored guidelines and work on Rule coding standardization across supported regions
- Coordinate with Portfolio Managers and Investment Specialists for fund breaches and perform annual account review
- Execute Client service group duties and coordinate between various Portfolio Managers
- Identify post-trade violation investigation and resolution and identify active versus passive breach
- Assist with Client certifications and/or attestations and perform additional review of regulatory breaches around Undertakings for Collective Investment in Transferable Securities (UCITS) and The Investment Company Act of 1940 regulations
- Perform manual checks as per tests agreed with Risk and Front Office
- Participate in local and projects as required and ensure timely responses to inquiries from internal and external stakeholder and/or clients
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills:
- Bachelor's Degree in Business, Finance, Information Systems, or relevant disciplines
- At least 5 year of work experience in financial services industry with prior experience on portfolio guidelines coding or monitoring, securities reference data, and/or portfolio analysis
- Effective communication, analytical, and interpretation skills with fluency in both English and Mandarin
- Able to pay close attention to details
- Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
- Ability to demonstrate high risk awareness, operational control, problem solving and process improvement experience.
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills:
- Understanding of Collective Investment in Transferable Securities (UCITS), The Investment Company Act of 1940 regulations or Employee Retirement Income Security Act of 1974 (ERISA) will be added advantage
- Experience with Alteryx, Python and/or Signavio will be hugely beneficial
- Posses certificate or other qualification in Data Science will be a plus
