• This function covers incumbents responsible for various data activities, which include database administration, data analysis, maintenance, data quality, and database management or database architecture / design engineering
• Responsible for routine operational or administrative work
• Day-to-day actions are focused on administering defined procedures, analyses and report preparation
• Individuals will have their work thoroughly reviewed and checked by more senior incumbents and will have limited contact outside their immediate area
• Daily deliverable of routine and defined outputs, while at the same time developing knowledge of the broader context in which the work is being performed
• Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.

• 2-5 years relevant experience
• Ability to think strategically and the ability to engage resources outside of their direct control to achieve objectives
• Know-how on analytic tools (SAS E-miner, Knowledge Seeker, SPSS etc.)
• Big data and machine learning experiences are (R, Python etc.)

Job brief

We are looking for a Product Owner accountable for maximizing the value of our Data Lake and Big Data solutions by enhancing the current technological features and business strategy. Product Owner responsibilities include gathering feature requests, scheduling releases and coordinating sprints. To be successful in this role, you should be able to identify user needs and work with cross-functional teams to empower business users and manage product releases through best-practices. Ultimately, you’ll help us roll-out products and deliver innovative strategic initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Incorporate feature requests into product roadmap.
• Team leader able to define epics, features and tasks with agile methodologies.
• Analyzes business requirements and translates them into high-level design.
• Clearly articulates rationale for decisions from business to technical.
• Work with business teams and Data professionals across the organization.
• Collaborates within the technical teams such as Data Architects, Data Modelers, ETL Developers, Project Managers, and Platform Architects.
• Lead meetings and working sessions to solve issues, challenges and risks by factoring input from partners and diverse points of view.
• Facilitates meetings with decision makers, technology owners, vendors, and end users to define goals and requirements.
• Keep track of new Big Data industry trends.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Data Analytics, Information Systems.
• Desired: Work experience as a Product Owner or similar role in product management, preferrable in Financial institutions.
• Familiarity with Agile engineering practices is a plus.
• Hands-on experience managing all stages of the product life cycle.
• Technical background with familiarity in relevant data technologies structured/unstructured databases, data modeling, data management, rapid/iterative development methodologies and data governance tools; preferrable having worked with Teradata, Oracle, Cloudera stack and programming languages as SQL, Python or R.

• Depth experience with the Hadoop stack and understanding Big Data technologies and associated data governance procedures. Knowledge in data architecture and industry data models.
• Experience implementing high data volume solutions.
• Proven strong presentation skills, business and technical writing and verbal communication skills to support decision-making and actions.
• Outstanding problem-solving and critical thinking skills to recognize and comprehend complex data flows and designs.
• Team spirit and strong communication abilities.
• Excellent relationship management, communication and presentation skills.
• English fluent.
